About Me

Hi!  My name is Angie.  I'm 29 years old living in city 20 minutes north of Seattle with my boyfriend of a decade and our combined 3 cats and my old man black Lab, Harvey.

I work full time as a veterinary receptionist and I hate it.  I've been doing it for about 9 years, and I just need a change.

I love horses, and rode for about 15 years before I had to sell my horse and become an "adult".  One of these days I hope to have horses again, and make my career all about horses, but until that times comes, I'm still trying to figure out what I wanna be when I grow up!

I love video games, I mostly play fantasy RPG's.  You know, Final Fantasy, the Tales series, that sorta thing.  But I also LOVE the God of War series (Kratos is so freaking hot!!) and the Assassin's Creed series as well (oh man, seriously nothing better than jumping off a ledge and assassinating someone!  And duh, there was a UNICORN code in the second game....say what?!?).  I'm not big into shooter games which I'm sure disappoints my boyfriend as that's all he seems to play.

I love reading.  I could seriously sit down and do nothing but read all day, and I have before.  I read mostly fantasy with some Dick Francis mysteries thrown in for good measure, and of course anything with horses in it.  My favorite series by far is the Symphony of the Ages by Elizabeth Hayden.  Seriously the best series I have ever read.  There is so much humor in her stories, I literally laugh out loud when I read them.  She really needs to get cracking on an ending to the stories!  Coming in a close second is Philip Pullman's series His Dark Material.  I've never read a series where I had so much raw emotion reading it.  This series literally had me in tears at times.  I also love Tolkien, and am over half way through the History of Middle Earth, and I really know way too much about Middle Earth!  I'm on book 6 of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.  I had to give them a break as they take up waaaaayyy too much of my time!  And don't get me started on Steig Larsson's Millenium series!  Oh man, so good!  And finally, I'm on book 3 of George RR Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice.  I don't know how I got so late in the game for this series, but wow is it ever good!

I love Xena.  It was such a great show, it had fighting, humor, love and friendship.  I always looked and Xena and Gabrielle's relationship as a really strong friendship (I know there are others that beg to differ though, lol!!).  People always make fun of me for loving this show as much as I do.  And I always freak out when I see an actor that was in Xena, in something current (Karl Urban, I'm looking at you!).  Basically half of the characters that were in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, were once in Xena....seriously!

I love unicorns.  Hence the name of the blog!  I've always had a fascination with them for some unknown reason.  If I get lots of shit for loving Xena, I get heaps of steaming shit for loving unicorns, lol!  My first tattoo happened to be a unicorn!  And I have plans for another unicorn tattoo in the future.

As you may have gathered from the above information, I am a huge dork.  And I'm painfully awkward at times.  I'm incredibly shy, but outgoing and strongly opinionated once you get to know me.

And finally, I come down to the reason for this blog.  I love beauty products.  I don't think I'm beautiful or hot (as my bf likes to call me) at all.  I would say I'm cute.  I'm the cute girl that always got passed by by the boys in school for the "hot" girls.  In the end I found a wonderful guy who loves me for me.  But that doesn't mean I don't like playing with makeup.  I wear makeup to bring out my plain features.  I love playing with different, fun color combinations.  And I'm forever trying to perfect my blending skills.  I've found my recent obsession with blush.  I always thought my freckles distracted from blush, when in reality, I just wasn't wearing it correctly.

Anyways, that's me in a nutshell.  A rather large wordy nutshell!

Actually this right here, is me in a nutshell!
