L'oreal Collection Privee - Frieda's Nude and Eva's Nude

Hi guys!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Mine was absolutely fantastic.  We spent both Christmas and Christmas Eve at our house.  Christmas Eve my guys family came over for apps and sliders which was a great way to have dinner without worrying about cooking all day.  Then my family came over Christmas morning and I made a breakfast casserole and we just hung out and played games.  It was awesome!  We didn't buy any gifts for each other (except kids of course), and it was great not having to worry about that aspect.  It really was awesome!  And we didn't have to drive anywhere! : )

The L'Oreal Collection Privee collection landed at my Fred Meyer a couple weeks ago, and it includes 5 nude polishes made/inspired by 5 celebrity's.  I only bought two which seemed interesting to me.  The weird thing about looks like different polishes were offered earlier this fall under the same names, but different colors, and also different bottles.  Hmm....

This first one is Frieda's Nude, which was inspired by Freida Pinto.  It's a metallic nude which was quite flattering on me.  Might not be a color everyone would like, but I quite like it.

Next up is Eva's Nude inspired by Eva Longoria.  It's a typical nude, but had a bit of shimmer in the bottle which did get lost on the nail.  But that's ok, cause it's a nice nude.

Anybody get cool stuff for Christmas?  My favorite present?  These slippers!  So cute!

OPI - This Gown Needs A Crown

I honestly didn't want any polishes from the new OPI Miss Universe (or whatever it is) collection.  So meh!  But everyone was raving about this polish, so I felt I had to have it.  Gah, what kind of reasoning is that?

Anyway, I'm glad I picked this one up, cause it's so much better IRL than it shows in pics.  It's super blingy!

This Gown Needs a Crown is a satin finish, and OPI definitely knows what their doing!  And I CAN'T WAIT for the Gwen Stefani satin finish polish, cause it looks awesome!

OPI - You Don't Know Jacques

Hey!  I'm surprised I've never shown this polish before!  This is a classic!  And it's a classic for a reason!

OPI's You Don't Know Jacques is one of my older polishes.  Before this whole obsession began.  I had good tastes huh?

I'm pretty sure this is one of those colors that looks good on just about everyone.  And that's probably why it's so popular.

I HEART brown polishes!

China Glaze - Elfin' Around

When I saw this years Christmas collection from China Glaze, I thought "meh".  I bought one of the glitters months ago before I saw swatches.  Then I saw swatches of this one, and I thought, "well, maybe I'll like this one".  And boy was I right.  I HEART this one like crazy!

This is Elfin' Around and believe it's described as a coral metallic.  Seriously, I've never seen another like this!  It looks amazing on me! : ) Seriously though, I couldn't stop staring at my nails all day!

The Lady Varnishes - Greenwood Hospitality

Gosh, I'm so disappointed with how my pics are turning our recently!  I try to enlarge them and they are super blurry and pixelated!  Gross!

Here is the last of the How She Sparkles collection I own from The Lady Varnishes.  And THIS one is named after Molly Grue.  I had made a comment in my first post about The Lady Varnishes that I was surprised that they didn't make a polish based on Molly, and Kristen kindly told me that Greenwood Hospitality is based on Molly.  Well duh Angie!  She also kindly included this is my last order which was the nicest of surprises!!

Greenwood Hospitality is a medium green base with lots of different glitters going on.  I see brown, copper and gold hexes and some smaller kelly green hexes.  I also see some gold irregular shards.  Pretty!  Even for a green! : )

Molly Grue has one of my favorite scenes from the movie.  When she cries "where have you been?" ugg, it just tears at my heartstrings!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Smile

Hey guys!  How bout some more RBL's?  And man this is a good one, even though my camera makes it look like nothing special.  And ick, this winter has not been kind on my hands!  Talk about some dry, raggedy cuticles!  Yuck!

I would consider Smile a melon.  Neither pink, nor coral.  Though, maybe it is coral.  Whatever it it, it's PERFECT!  Just the kinda color I adore!  There is also a bit of a hidden shimmer in this that is very hard to discern.

Absolute perfection I tell you!

Anyone else catch the new Hobbit movie?  I have so many thoughts about it, but don't even know where to start!  First off, I loved it....cause, well, it brought me back to Middle Earth, and everyone knows how I love the M.E.!

Was anyone else disappointed with Beorn? The way they portrayed him was not at all how I saw him.  Anyone else think they made him look like a werewolf?  Such a bummer for me, cause I love Beorn.  And he was in it a whole, what, 5 minutes?  Super bummer!

I was also disappointed that they didn't include Mirkwood that much.  It was such a big part of the book.  It makes me excited for the extended editions (they have to be making them right?!?) to see what they didn't include in the movies.

As far as the character Tauriel, you know, I can't hate, cause Evangeline Lilly is adorbs (talk about girl crush here!).  Did they need her in the movie?  No, but I like what she brought.  Though I could have lived without the Legolas, Tauriel, Kili love triangle.  That's a bit unnecessary!

Now, you know what really irked me, was Thorin saying he wasn't going to risk everything for one "burglar".  At this point in the book (if I remember correctly), Bilbo has become one of them.  Even at the end of An Unexpected Journey they respected Bilbo.

You know what element I really loved that PJ added?  The orc's.  I love that they added them, and it gives a nice idea of whats to come with the Battle of Five Armies.  I'm assuming that's what the third movie is going to be about.  And I also love that they go into what the hell Gandalf is doing when the dwarves are off fighting a dragon.  I always thought that was funny.  In the book Gandalf's all "see ya" and runs off! : )

You know what I'm really surprised about....that PJ didn't find a way to add Gollum.  Total surprise!  Given his love affair of Andy Serkis.  I wouldn't have minded if he did include Gollum.

And as much as I want to hate the fact that PJ made a book that took me maybe a day and a half to read into three very long movies, I just can't!  You know why?  Cause the more time I can spend immersed in the world of Middle Earth, the better!  And....really, can't go wrong with Martin Freeman.  I have loved him since The Office, and he is the perfect Bilbo.  Seriously.  As disappointed as I was with Elijah Wood as Frodo (seriously, I really disliked Frodo in the LOTR trilogy!), Martin more than makes up for it as Bilbo!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Cuprum / Gap - Sparkling Sea....DUPE ALERT!

Hey guys!  How bout a dupe of a pretty expensive polish?  Would you be interested in seeing that?  Well read on my friends, read on!

Who else almost shit their pants with excitement when RBL had their 50% off sale?  I know I *almost* did!  $20 is a lot of money for one polish, but $10 I can do!  I picked up four to add to my two I already owned, and now I have a right little collection of RBL!  I feel so fancy!

Anyways, I couldn't wait to wear Cuprum.....but the funny thing is, while I was waiting for it to ship, I went out and bought Gap's Sparkling Sea which is (to me) an exact dupe!

They both have the same metallic base....they both have the same copper/pink shimmer.  And if I remember correctly, they both have pretty much the same formula.  I did find that Sparkling Sea did bubble a bit where as Cuprum did not.

(first three pics are Cuprum, for the comparison, see after the bottle shots)

The same in the bottle, right?!?

I have to apologize, I don't remember which is which on my fingers, and obviously since they look the same to my eyes, I can't tell which is which!

If I had to pick between the two, I would pick the RBL just cause bubbling with the Gap.  But if you want a cheap dupe for an expensive polish, by all means, get the Gap!

The Lady Varnishes - A Real Magician

Hi friends!  Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend.  I can't believe it's already so close to Christmas.  Haven't done much as far as Christmas shopping.  Thankfully both of our families have decided not to do presents, so that makes shopping so much easier an less stressful!

I honestly thought I posted this polish MONTHS ago...but alas, I was wrong.  This is A Real Magician by The Lady Varnishes.  This is another from the How She Sparkles collection based on The Last Unicorn!

This polish is inspired by Schmendrik the Magician.  Schmendrik is always trying to prove he's a real magician all the while making kinda a fool of himself.  In the end he's a genuinely nice guy, and I've always loved him!

Be weary of wrosing a wizards wrath......rousing a weary of making a magician angry!! (always one of my favorite Schmendrik line!)

Anywho, I layered one coat over a coat of H&M's Blue My Mind as seen here.  I wanted a base that didn't darken the base of A Real Magician, and I really liked the way this looks over Blue My Mind.

Hope you guys don't mind more scheduled post's from me.  That seems to be the easiest way for me to post at this time!

KBShimmer - Snow Much Fun

I was sooooo excited for this polish when I first saw swatches.  I knew I needed it!  This is KBShimmer's Snow Much Fun.

There's so much going on here it's crazy!  First off are the cute white snowflakes which unfortunately are so big that they don't lie flat.  There is TONS of holo shimmer in here which is really unnoticeable in pics.  There's also holo and silver hexe's, small mini white hexes, and white circle glitter which reminds me of snowballs!  Those are what sold it for me, cute!!

I believe I applied three coats, but next time I will apply a similar blue polish as a base to lessen the glitter coats needed.

Finger Paints - Kiss by the Tree

How Christmas-y is this combo?!?  I LOVE it!!

This is two coats of ChG Ruby Pumps (which I have yet to actually wear on it's own!) and two coats of Finger Paints Kiss by the Tree, a peppermint white and red glitter topper.

OPI - Taylor Blue feat. ChG I'm Not Lion

Taylor Blue is a polish OPI created for the Taylor's Gift which is a foundation that helps spread awareness of organ donation.  You can read about it here.  OPI partnered to make this color which you can still purchase here.

I really, really wanted to love this one!  If the actual color looked like the color in these photos I would probably like it more.  In reality, it is much more green.  Still a nice looking polish, just not what I expected.

For an accent I added one of my favorites, ChG's I'm Not Lion.

L'oreal - Sexy in Sequins

I hope y'all don't mind a couple short posts as I really want to get some of these drafts out!!

This is L'oreal Sexy in Sequins, and it sure is a sexy beast!  It reminds me of a purple version of OPI's Alcatraz....Rocks.

Gold and pink shimmer and purple hexes?!?  YES PLEASE!

Revlon - Autumn Spice

Hey guys! Did you catch my Santa pic on IG?  If not, you can see it here.  Turned out cute right?!?  Lots of red huh?!? : )

These pics were taken AGES ago...but I think I remember a bit about this polish.  I do know that this applied better than Italian Leather which I bought at the same time.  This one also smelled a whole heck of a lot better than Italian Leather, which smelled like musky man...gross right?!?

Anyways, Autumn Spice smelled lovely....exactly like the name!

This was one of those polishes that has that lit from within look to it.  Beautiful!

Sinful Colors - Treasure Chest

Hi friends!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Today we're going to go take Santa pictures with Harvey.  I kinda wish we had done it sooner!

I'm kinda surprised I haven't shown this sooner, but now looking at the pics, I can see why not, cause WOW, are these pics blurry!

This is Sinful Colors Treasure Chest and it might very well be my favorite texture ever!  Treasure Chest is a teal/turquoise with an absolutely stunning golden shimmer running throughout and even though you can't tell, it is very strong in person.

As you can see above, it matches my favorite hoodie with thumb holes!

I'm sad that my pics turned out so crappy!  Maybe Santa will bring me a new camera!! : )
