The Lady Varnishes - How She Sparkles collection

Oh my gosh guys, I don't even think I can begin to tell you how excited I am about these polishes!  One day I was just hanging out on Etsy, searching for my usual things....unicorn cell phone case (still have yet to find one I like), bridal jewelry, unicorn tshirts.....I think you get the picture.  Well a light bulb went off in my head.  Search for unicorn polish.  Well a few different things came up, some being actual polish, as I scrolled through, a lot of it was just meh.  Then I set eyes on the polish below.

I clicked on The Lady Varnishes Always Dreaming and fell in love.  Then I read the description and had major girl-boner-time (if you don't know, don't ask, lol).  This polish collection is based on my favorite movie of all time in the history of the world (and yes, I say that every time!).

The Last Unicorn is my favorite movie ever, ever, ever!  It's where my unicorn obsession began!  I still own my original VHS (from what, '83??) and 3 COUNT EM, THREE copies of the DVD.  It's one of those movies for me, that invokes lots of emotion, and childhood feelings and memories.  I do have to warn you, if you have never seen it, you won't understand!  I've always wanted a large tattoo back piece of the unicorn standing in the forest with her little animal friends (with the butterfly of course!).  But I'm way to picky and would have to find the right tattoo artist, cause the unicorn would have to look PERFECT.  I've seen some wonky ass Last Unicorn tattoo's.

Anyways, on to the polishes!

First up is Always Dreaming.  This polish absolutely reminds me of the Lady Amalthea.  Completely and totally.  If I was going to make a polish based off the unicorn, it would be this color right here.  Absolutely perfect.  I do have one complaint about this polish which you will see later.

Always Dreaming is a sweet lavender base with large and small white hexes, small blue, pink and lavender hexes and silver flakes in it.  I applied three coats here, and wish I had used a similar base color so I wouldn't have to apply so many coats of glitter.  I did that with the other two polishes below.  BUT, the formula on these are all identical, and very easy to work with.  These also have a scent to them similar to Cirque, though there is nothing in the description that says they are scented.  But I swear, they are!  Maybe I'm just weird.

Don't ask me what the eff is going on with the skin around my fingers.  I have no idea.

You will see here, each of these bottles are packaged with a little star charm, so cute!  Each polish is also individually wrapped with in a similar color organza bag.  Wish I had taken a picture of the packaging, cause it's super cute!

My one complaint about this polish is what you see above.  I stared to apply this, and thought it had dark blue glitter in there.  I'm still not sure what it is, maybe pigment?  But I don't think those blue specks are supposed to be there.

Next up is The Red Bull (not to be confused with the drink).  This one is obviously named after the bull.  OBVIOUSLY! : ) Again, if I had to make a polish based on the Red Bull, it would be this one!

The Red Bull is a mix of a firey orangy red base with way too much gold, yellow and red glitter to really identify.  There is also some red and yellow square glitter too, which is fun.

I applied one coat OVER a base color of OPI's The Spy Who Loved Me.  I wanted to make this a deeper, more red color.  I think this might be my favorite of the three I bought.

And last but not least is Silly Butterfly.  I'm a wee bit disappointed this doesn't look as bright purple as it does on Etsy, cause, do I need to say it again, if I was going to make a polish based on the butterfly, it would look exactly like this.  The butterfly happens to be one of my favorite character (besides Molly Grue, when she says "where have you been?" my heart breaks, it just breaks!  I'm kinda surprised there isn't a polish for her!)

I applied one coat over Orly's High on Hope, and next time I wear this, I'm going to try it over a bright purple to see if becomes more purple.  I see large lavender and blue hexes with smaller light blue and darker blue hexes and blue micro glitters in here.  At certain angles I see this absolutely breathtaking purple shimmer which unfortunately doesn't translate to the nail.

(Sorry about that stray animal hair.....)

I hope you guys like my swatches.  I'm so glad I found this Etsy store, cause she has some absolutely stunning looking polishes I want to buy!

Edit:  I had to come back, cause I'm an idiot.  These polishes ARE scented!  LOL!  There looks to be 7 different scents and I picked "Surprise Me" for the scent, so I really don't know what scents there are.  And I feel like an idiot not realizing that they were scented when I bought them!! LOL!

OPI - Funny Bunny

Hello there!  I'm just sitting here counting down the days to my camping vacation.  Angie is in major need of some time away!  I had the bright idea of getting squirt guns as there are going to be 4 adults and 2 teens.  Doesn't that sound like fun?  Anyways, when I was at Target yesterday, I found a UNICORN squirt gun!  OMFG I might have freaked out a little.  You know I picked that shit up! LOL.

So I've shown this polish before.  It actually happens to be my most searched post ever, which I find kind of weird.  While I LOVE squishy sheer white jelly's, I wouldn't think it was so popular with other people.  So I wanted to reswatch it, and have better pictures out there, cause I really don't like my first try!

This is OPI's Funny Bunny.  Is this a core color?  I think it might be.  I'm pretty sure this is two coats, but it could very well be three.  This is one of those colors I think looks good when you see a little VNL.

Gaaaahhh, I really love this color!

So squeeeessssshhhhhyyyy!!

I really wanted to wear a dark eggplant purple on my wedding day (whenever that may be, seriously, still no plans!), but I'm very, very tempted to wear this one!  It looks great with my ring! : )

This is seriously still one of my favorite colors!

Sephora - Grapefruit

Hiya!  Hope you all have fantastic weather like we do here in the PNW.  It's finally summer!  I got some weeding done this morning (our backyard looks like a jungle with lots of doggy land mines if you catch my drift).  I really wish we had one of those awesome backyards everyone wanted to just hang out in...but we don't.  Maybe one day!

Since yesterday Friday was the official first day of summer, I thought I would show an awesome summer combo for you guys.  I bought this polish from Sephora on clearance for like two bucks or something a few months ago.  I finally pulled it out, and not sure why I waited so long to wear it.  I mean it combines two of my favorite polish shades ever.  Coral AND gold shimmer!

This is the Sephora shade simply called Grapefruit.  It's one of those annoying two sided polishes with the color and a topcoat.  It's also grapefruit scented.

The topcoat reminds me of China Glaze White Cap, which I believe I have yet to wear. (Don't beat me Rach!)

I think this would be a magnificent pedi color!

Anyone else pick up this stunning deal?

Sation by Miss Professional Nail Swatches and Review

Hi guys!  I have a great review for you today.  I was hoping to get these up sooner, but, well, as I mentioned yesterday, I've had a crazy week!

I was sent a few polishes to review from Miss Professional Nail.  I don't have a lot of experience with Sation polishes, I believe I only have two.  The polishes I have purchased I got from TJ Maxx, I've heard rumors that some TJ Maxx's actually have full displays of Sation polishes, though I haven't seen them.  They can be purchased from Miss Professional Nail for between $5 and $7.

Lets get on with it!

First up is Paint Some Sugar on Me.  This is from the Candylandia collection.  It's a jelly formula (as are most of the polishes from this collection I received).  I applied two coats, the first was a bit patchy, but it evened out by the second coat.

I absolutely LOVE this one!  It reminds me of China Glaze Skyscraper, though they are very different.  The silver shimmer wasn't as hidden as it looks in these pictures.

It really didn't look as sheer as it does here.

Lollipop! Goes the Princess - I  *L*O*V*E the name!  So cute!  This is from the Candylandia collection too.

The application on this one was good.  I wore two coats, but once I put topcoat on, it left it a bit streaky, and it changed the color a bit.  Otherwise, yay, periwinkle! : )

Queenie in a Bottle - from the Candylandia collection, is a lovely pink jelly.  I applied three coats, and it has an absolutely gorgeous formula.  Even with three coats, it dried lightning quick.

On my ring finger I'm wearing Miss & Makeup. Which is an awesome, awesome glitter!  It's so....uhh...biker chick?  LOL, I dunno!  It's a combo of shredded black glitter, shredded holo shards (seriously, they look like shards!), really, really fine bar glitter, huge pink hexes a smattering of holo glitter.  It's seriously fun!

I wasn't crazy about it with Queenie in a Bottle, but you will see it again below.

Of Corset I'll Call You - This one is from the Miss Antoinette collection.  This one applied just like Queenie in a Bottle.  It was a lovely jelly/creme formula, that applied perfectly with three coats and dried quickly.

This is the combo of Miss & Makeup I loved.  It's so fun!

I'm So Ogre It - from the Candyladia collection is a gray jelly. A GRAY JELLY!  Who else makes that?  It applied perfectly like the others in two coats.

Unicorns are Teal - from the Candylandia collection.  Would I have bought this if I hadn't been sent this?  Yes....uhh, hello!  The name! Of course I would!  Again, this applied like all the other jelly/creme's and was absolutely perfect.

And last, but not least is Confessions of a Nail Tech.  Which by the way, doesn't look anything like it does at that link.  It also says that it's a clear base, but you can obviously see, its a sheer pink base.  There is two different pink hexes, small and large holo hexes, an itsy bitsy amount of tiny bar glitter.

I applied it over Zoya Ragan and Shelby, and like it better over the darker pink.  I did find I had to apply the hexes a little, but it wasn't bad.

I'm soooo impressed with these polishes.  I didn't have any difficulties with any of these, and almost all of them were flawless to apply.  I just wish there was some place local where I could see all the awesome glitter, cause they look so awesome!  I'm going to have to buy some!

I really hope you guys enjoyed my review, have you found anything you need??

Ninja Polish - Mystic Glacier

Good evening my friends.  Long time no blog....things have been a bit crazy on this end.  I've had three weeks of crazy overtime at work (and I haaaattttee overtime!).  I've been working over 45 hours for three weeks (I'm use to about 35 a week).  On Monday I was dunzo! To top it off, my birthday was on Tuesday and it sucked big ol' donkey balls. It was one of "those" days at work, and I was randomly crying cause I was so stressed and tired.  BUT, the good thing is I have the next 5 days off, so I hope I can catch up on life!

But to make up for my absence, I will leave you with this stunning polish.  I've wanted this polish forever!  And was finally able to score it, and boy was I glad!

Ahh, Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier!  So many pretty colors in one beautiful polish!  This was two lovely, coats.  It really didn't look sheer IRL, and VNL was barely visible.

There was a blinding green flash at this angle.

Gold and coppery/red shimmer at the same time!

*catcall whistle*

Sorry about the blurry indoor pics, my camera couldn't handle all this gorgeous!

Be still my heart!!

I hope with my 5 days off I can get a bunch of blog posts written up and stashed in my draft folder so I have SOMETHING to share with you guys!  Wishful thinking I'm sure! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful night, and love this gorgeous polish!
How much did y'all miss me? :)
