Essence - Peach Beauty

Hey guys!  Hope you've all had a great week.  I feel like mine has just gone on forever!  But only a day an a half for my weekend.  I don't have any plans, at least I don't think I do.  I do that a lot, make plans, and forget I've made them, lol.  I'm a wee bit of a scatter brain at times.  Yet at the same time, I'm incredibly organized.  Actually, I like to call it organized chaos.  Yup, that's me!

So the polish I'm showing you today is kinda random.  I was at Fred Meyer's about a week ago, and found a new untouched Essence collection called Fruity.  I actually bought all the polishes and also the blush sorbet.  I was so excited when I got home, I posted about a "new" collection on my FB polish group, just to be told it was an old collection from last year.  Hmm.....

Well I believe this was a collection that wasn't released here in the states.  So I guess it's new here. : )

I believe this color is called Peach Beauty.  None of the polishes have names on them, but you can find their names by googling.

Peach Beauty is well, a creamy peach color with a slight shimmer to it.  It also has some small fuchsia glitter in it.  I'm *pretty* sure I'm wearing 3 coats.  But it could very well be 2.  It's a wee bit sheer, so you might notice the yellowing of your nails like me....

I'm just kinda "meh" about this polish.  But then again, I've said it before, I'm not crazy about milky glitters like this.  Throw in there some different size, different color glitter in a milky polish, and sold! Now that's my kinda milky glitter!

Hope you all have a good night!  It's my bed time (9:00).....I'm such an old lady!! : )

Victoria's Secret - Break The Rules

Hiya!  Hope you all are well!  I'm in another rut.  I freaking hate it dude!  There is so much stress right now with work, and I keep bringing it home with me, which sucks for everyone here at home.  I really need to find a new job, but I really want something that I love, which is just too difficult to find. *sigh*, anyways....

Lookit this pretty polish!  This is Victoria's Secret Break the Rules.  It's a teal glitter (despite the very blue it looks here) with micro and large hex teal glitter with a sprinkle of indigo blue glitter thrown in.  It's very similar to this glitter I showed recently, but obviously different colors.

This is a full coverage glitter, but I had used one of the Color Club Halo Hues as a base....but you obviously can't see it.  I used two coats for what you see here.  The only problem, is I got a bottle that someone used in store.  Does anyone else get livid when they see someone try polish on in the store, then put it back?  OMG, are you serious?!?  Seriously, it effing pissed me off!  Anyway, my bottle sucks, I can't seem to get all the polish and glitter out of the threads of the cap....thus, the polish is very goopy since it's drying out.  While the formula was actually quite good despite this, it bunch up a bit, and was a little lumpy.

Despite the crappy bottle I got, I still like this.  What I don't like?  My dry cuticles!  I haven't felt like taking care of my hands like I usually do, and it shows.  Because of all my stress, I just haven't felt that "into" my polish and nails.  It's so sad!

And just cause I don't want to end as such a downer, watch this video.  I will first off say, I HATE the Harlem Shake.....I'm seriously so sick of it, BUT, there is one character in this video I can't take my eye's off, and I laugh every time!  Let me know if you think you know which one I'm talking about!

Another Fan Brush Mani

Hey guys!  I'm wearing another fan brush mani using my Essence Nail Art Multi Effect Brush.  You can see the first one I tried here.  This is seriously such an easy way to do nail art.....once you figure out the best method.  I think the next time I do this, I will use regular drops of polish on the sides, and make the middle drop small.  The middle color seems to fan out the most and can almost take over the whole nail.  For this, I was actually able to add to each of the side colors to make them stand out more.

I also think next time I will try with darker colors.  These light pastel colors are almost too subtle for this.  But I can't help it, I just can't get enough of the pastel's right now!

These are the colors I used.  Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth, Zoya Neely and Sinful Colors Orange Cream.  These are the only two colors from the new Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection.....but I feel I need them all (except Unicorn, naturally, I already have that one!).

Has anyone tried this technique yet?

China Glaze - Dazzle Me, Razzle Me

Hey guys!  Hope you had a great weekend.  My guy and I went to see War Horse yesterday, and it was amazing!  Being a horse person, usually anything with horses is considered amazing to me, but seriously, go see it if you can!  Just the simple act of eating grass was done to perfection!

Anyways, this is what I wore yesterday. I said I wasn't going to buy any of the polishes from this collection, cause they're just "eh" in the bottle, but I liked the swatches I've seen of this one.  So I bought it....naturally.

This is China Glaze Dazzle Me, Razzle Me over a couple coats of Essence Modern Romance (which BTW I was positive I've shown on here before, but I can't seem to find it).

This mix of glitter is actually really fun.  It's got a mix of nude small and large hex and nude micro glitter, along with 4 different sizes of black hex's (including the really large hex's, my favorite!!) and long black bar glitter.

There was one random iridescent glitter glitter which you can see in the pick below on my middle finger above the huge black hex. I couldn't see anymore in the bottle, so I'm not sure where it came from.

The only issue I had with this is I couldn't get the coats of glitter even on all fingers.  Some wanted to go on thick, and others didn't.  I'm sure with more careful application it wouldn't be a problem.

I actually really like this glitter!  Just wish there were more huge black hex's!

Milani Texture - Shady Gray, Spoiled in Fuchsia and Aqua Splash

Hiya!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic week.  I've had 4 days off, and it's awfully nice!  Seriously, if I had to only work 2 days a week, I would be a really happy girl!  Anyone have fun plans for tomorrow?  I don't, I think we are just going out to dinner...where?  I dunno!  I'm just preparing myself for all the engagement announcements tomorrow. lol

So yesterday morning I went early morning grocery shopping.  My favorite grocery store to go to is Fred Meyer's since they have a huge cosmetics department, and always have new stuff.  I was wandering around in the cosmetics department when I spotted these new Milani Textured Cremes.  So much fun!  There were 6 colors and I picked up 3 of them.  For whatever reason I thought I picked up the purple, but I guess I didn't, lol.  I also love that the labels on these are textured as know, it's the small things!

I used all three colors for this mani.  Shady Gray, Spoiled in Fuchsia and Aqua Splash.  I think it's pretty obvious which one's which.

Lol at my left hand....

These all had great formulas, though the teal was a bit sheer.  These dry a lot quicker than the OPI Sand's, though if you applied *too* much, it dries super slow, so you want to make sure you make make the coats even.

I seriously love this trend.  I know a lot of people hate it, but I can't help but love it!  I will say that I love the OPI's a little bit more because of the glitter they add, but I still love these!

How do you all feel about textures?

H&M Oh La La

Hey guys!  So funny, I thought I had already posted this mani, but I guess not since it's still in my drafts folder.  This is another polish the lovely Deborah sent me.

The base is H&M's Oh La La.  Deborah knows me so well sending me this polish.  It's an orangy coral with golden shimmer!  My favorite!

I added Essence's Make It Golden as a reverse gradient, and it worked very well.

Thanks Deborah, I LOVE it!

In other news, I have the most delicious roast cooking in my crockpot right now.  I found this recipe on Pintrest earlier this week, and I have to say it.smells.amazing!  It's taking all my being to not eat the whole thing now!  Next time I'm not going to use as much butter or seasoning mix, I just don't think it needs it.

Ta ta for now!  Thanks for stopping by!

Victoria's Secret - Drama Queen

Hey guys!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, but hopefully feel better by this weekend, we've got lots of plans! Yay!

Anyways, the last time I was in Victoria's Secret, and they had gotten in a whole bunch of new polishes.  These come in the square Butter London bottles, unlike the two I showed late last year.  The top comes off just like the Butter London's.  I like em!

I believe they are $8 or $10 each, or 2 for $15.  I picked up two, and both of them are glitters.  I didn't have anything quite like this one, so I picked it up.  This one is Drama Queen, and she's super glittery.  She's a combo of micro lavender glitter with medium size baby pink hex with a dash of royal blue glitter thrown in.

It's an interesting mix.  I probably could have gotten it away with wearing this a long, but I layered it over a coat of Zoya Lotus, which ended up being the perfect base.

Anyone else pick up some of these Victoria's Secret polishes?

Color Club Halo Hues - Cherubic, Kismet, Harp On It and Eternal Beauty

Hey guys, hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I was really under the weather Saturday and yesterday, so I spent most of the weekend sleeping.  I feel a bit better today.

So I finally gave in when the new Color Club Halo Hues came out.  I bought all of them, the 2012 and the new 2013.  I really don't *need* all new holo's, but who am I kidding, I WANTED them!  Besides, there's one color I don't have a holo of.

Sorry, I don't have the whole collection's swatched here, cause I like to wear my colors, then take pics of them.  But I'm going to break it up into 3 parts.

Color Club Cherubic

I was most excited for this color.  I love a good nude, and hey, holo?  Even better!  I actually have two holo nudes in my collection (China Glaze Cyberspace and Butter London All Hail the Queen), but nether of them are linear holo's like this one.

 Color Club Kismet

This is the color I don't have any holo's of.  Kismet is a golden light green.

Fun fact about me: I had a horse named Kismet (or Kizzy for short).  Kismet has always been a meaningful word for me as I've always believed in fate.

Color Club Harp On It

Harp On It is your standard silver holo.

 Color Club Eternal Beauty

Eternal Beauty is a lovely dark purple.  I actually don't have a dark purple.  Have many purples, but none that are dark like this.

These are awesome, easy to apply holo's.  The holo isn't the most strong I have, but the fact that they are easy to apply, and don't drag makes them worth it!

Fan Brush Mani

First of all, I don't know what to call this kinda nail art.  I remember seeing this somewhere else early last year I believe, and loving it. Somebody had used one of those funny fan shaped brushes to create.....well this look.

I always remember seeing the damn fan brushes in Michael's and Sephora and wondered what people used them for!  The only time I've ever seen a fan brush in use is by Bob Ross making his happy little clouds.  Man, I miss Bob Ross (who just happens to have the same name as my grandfather, who I also miss dearly).  Anyone else watch him?  His voice was always so relaxing!  I loved his show!

Anyways............I completely forgot about this style of mani till I was at Fred Meyer's last week, and saw their Essence display with TONS (and I mean TONS) of new products.  One being their Nail Art Multi Effect Brush.  Its a teeny, tiny fan brush, and it works wonderfully!

(Doesn't look great in this natural light pic)

For this mani I used OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a base, then for the colors I used Orly Lollipop (one of my absolute favorite pastel pink!), and Zoya's Blu and Neely.

The only issues I found with this is that I would get too much polish on the sides of my nails, and the polish would pool at my cuticles.  I was so quick to clean up, and it would drag the still wet polish at the sides of my nails.  Next time I won't use as big of drops of polish.

I got so many compliments on this at work yesterday.  Some of the girls I work with kept saying they thought I was wearing iridescent polish, and I just didn't get it and then I saw it at a certain angle and it totally reminded me of this.  I just wish my camera picked up the colors of this, cause it really looked awesome!

I'm not sure why this style didn't take off like gradients and cling foil mani's, cause it's super easy for us non nail art girls!
