China Glaze - Strap on Your Moonboots

Hello there!  I have a funny story about this polish, and I'm kinda embarrassed, being a nail blogger and all.  I wore this to work, and one of my clients comment on it, and told me she liked it.  She then asked what it was.  And me being, well weird, I told her "I dunno.....a blue?".  OMG, really?!?  She was like "well I can see that, but do you know what the name is?" and you know what I said?  "I dunno?".  OMG, so embarrassing!  I don't know what compelled me to say that.  *sigh*, I'm so weird!

Anyways, this is Ghina Glaze Strap on Your Moonboots, and I love it!  I love that the China Glaze's new Hologram collection contained so many "different" holo's.  I'm actually kinda over holo's (gasp, I know!).  But this new collection contains a few colors we haven't seen before. One being this one.

What a gorgeous navy holo.  I was surprised that this was a little draggy, as I don't usually have dragging problems with weak holo's.

I honestly thought this would have been a stronger holo than it is.  The other pics I've seen make it look pretty holo, but I don't know that this is anymore holo than the infamous Tronica collection (which I have a few from, and LOVE, BTW).

Ack, its still pretty though, right?!?

  1. I just laughed my tail off with that story. Sometimes it's easier to say "I dunno" because once you start listing names and close dupes, it gets closer to WEIRDLY SPECIFIC and they look at you like you have a third eye. I get it. :-P

  2. I wore this one a little while ago and I loved it! It's really gorgeous.

  3. I think your right. I think it's easier to play dumb, then to admit you know way too much about polish. I think the average person does not understand the polish obsession. I know trying to explain a water marble leaves most people scratching their heads!

  4. Gorgeous!! I like that it's not "overly holo" I think the color club ones are too strong for my liking...

  6. A holo too strong? No such thing! :)

I do like a strong holo, but really like that this keeps it's base color while still being holo!

  8. This is one of my favorites from the ChG collection. Do wish the holo was a bit stronger, but the color is gorgeous so I'll take it! It dragged really badly for me over a base coat, but no problem w/o one. Someone said they don't do that with an aqua base, but I haven't tried...

P.S. I had a moment like that before. Actually was wearing a picture polish flakie and I was at Sally's. The sales lady commented asking if it was one of their flakies and all I could tell her was that it wasn't. I completely blanked on the brand/name... she must have thought I was a nut :)

  9. I was really surprised that this dragged a little bit. Any holo drag is a piece of cake compared to my SH Nail Makeup holo's. Those are an absolute nightmare so I can deal with a little holo drag with this one. It sure is gorgeous.

I think what makes my story more embarrassing is that I purposefully didn't tell her the name of the polish. I think I didn't want to sound like a weird nail polish person, instead I just sounded stupid. *sigh* I was kicking myself after she left. :)

  10. Have not had the pleasure of trying the SH Nail Makeup polishes, but doesn't sound like I want to :)
LOL! So you knew what it was and just played dumb. That's funny! :)
