Zoya Ornate Winter Collection

Hi guys!  I couldn't stand it, when I started seeing swatches of his collection up, I literally dropped everything and made the purchase!  This might just be my favorite Zoya collection to date!

First up is Aurora.  Zoya describes this color as "a full coverage, medium sugarplum purple flecked with high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter".  This is by far my favorite of the collection.  The holo particles in this are amazing!  I want Zoya to make these holo's in every color!  While its not a linear holo, I love the scattered look of this, and how much depth it has.  I applied 3 coats for what you see here.  Also, while Zoya describes his as holographic glitter, it didn't apply like glitter.  Its more of an irregular shaped holo particles.  This dries completely smooth.

You can see some of the irregular holo particles better close up.

Next up is Ziv.  I was very excited for this color.  I kept seeing swatches that highlighted the darker gold flakes in this polish, but while I could see them sometimes, for the most part, my nails just looked gold.  I was a bit let down by this color.  But all the other colors made up for this one.

Ahh, this awesome one is Storm.  Again, this is the same concept as Aurora.  Large irregular flakes of holographic particles.  I wanna know what kinda of holographic glitter Zoya used, cause I have not seen anything like these!  My pics do not do this one justice at all.  This one had such an interesting look, I can't even begin to describe what this one was like! I almost thought it reminded me of putting the OPI Spotted polish over a linear holographic one, except the holes it created where teensy tiny.  Does that make sense?

Dancing rainbows!

Can you see the large flakes?

And last but not least, this is the polish I'm wearing as I type.  This one is Blaze.  Zoya describes this one as a mullberry red which I think describes it well.  Its not a true red, but more of a berry red.  This again, has the irregular flakes of holo particles in it.  I wore two coats of this, but I could have almost got away with one.  This polish also had an absolute fantastic formula.  It almost applied itself.  The one thing I noticed with this one though is that the holo doesn't shine through like the two others.  It must have something to do with the base polish.  It ended up looking like a holo jelly sandwich which I am just fine with.  This might be a close second for my favorite from this collection.

All I have to say about this collection is Zoya has out done themselves with this one!  It is absolutely gorgeous!

Have you picked up any of these?

Butter London - Fairy Cake

Hi guys!  Hope you all are well!  I'm super sore!  I just started the Insanity workout and it's well, insane!  I'm trying to get fit for the wedding, whenever that might be.  Already 3 workouts into it, my and my guy have already missed one, lol!  I'm just too sore to be able to do anything!

Anyways, this is the last new Butter London polish I have to show you.

This is three coats of Butter London's Fairy Cake.  This reminds me sort of this polish, just a different base color.  Actually, this color looks like it would be long in the Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe collection.  Its a chunky nude (maybe?!?) type glitter with chunky holo glitter in it.

I thought this might belong with my beloved China Glaze micro glitters with holo tossed in that I've been obsessed over, but alas, its more chunky.  While I like this color, I don't find it terribly unique.

Stay tuned in the next couple of day, I have a few polishes from the new Zoya collection to show you, and boy are they fantastic!

Born Pretty Store review feat. Butter London's Scallywag

I am so excited for this mani as I actually did some nail art!  Daisy from Born Pretty Store contacted me and asked if I would like to review a product.  I excitedly responded and told her I wanted to review these sequin glitters.  After seeing awesome mani after awesome mani from Sammy of The Nailasaurus using these glitters I wanted to try my hand at it.  After watching her video tutorial on how to use these, I went to work.

More after the jump!

Butter London - Scuppered

Yay its Sunday!  I have a pretty awesome color to show you today!  I purchased this color the other day with 2 other new Butter London's that showed up at my local Ulta.  Ulta is having a B2G1 on their Butter London's that I have a feeling is probably ending today, or next Sunday.  I will show you the other two soon.  Be on the lookout for the next one, cause it includes some actual nail art from me!

This is Butter London's Scuppered.  Its a lovely brown foil with fuchsia shimmer and green glitter.  This color looks excatly like OPI's Warm and Fozzy, but with green glitter.  *sigh* I always tell myself to try to get colors that aren't similar to what I already have, but it never fails, I see some glitter or shimmer and I instantly snatch it up without a second thought.

I actually really like this color, but from far away, you can't see the green glitter, and it just looks like Warm and Fozzy....lol.  I also love the foil finish of this polish, cause it makes it glitter without it being actual glitter.  Its a lovely polish for this time of year when all the leaves are changing!

I hope to get my nail art post up soon, its quite awesome (if I say so myself!).  And I hope you guys enjoy it!

Happy Sunday!

Nicole by OPI - Here We Kome A-karoling

Oh how I love this color!  When I picked up this color, I thought it would be a lovely mani color when I get married.  Its almost the color of my shoes.  The only problem is its a tad too dark.  I wish it was a little lighter.

This is Here We Kome A-karoling.....stupid Kardashian's and their stupid spelling!  Anyways this color has a lovely purple/pink shimmer.  Its really quite lovely.

The picture above is a bit more cool toned than it is in real life.  The picture below is much more accurate.

Anyone else pick this up?

Lush - Let The Good Times Roll review and haul

I haven't done a Lush haul in a LONG TIME!  But once I saw that they had the holiday stuff out, I had to order my favorite facial cleanser ever.  I'm starting my stock up of Buche de Noel RIGHT MEOW!

I ordered from the UK Lush site as the prices are much cheaper, even with the conversion from pounds.

Included in my haul is a Haagenbath and Jacko bath ballistics, Skinny Dip Buttercream, and Let The Good Times Roll and Buche de Noel.  You can see my review of Buche de Noel here.  Its my favorite!

The description on the Lush site says:

"We popped corn oil, polenta, maize flour and cinnamon in here.  The perfect recipe to gently exfoliate, moisturise and soften your skin for those times when you want to get ready for close-ups.

Let The Good Times Roll is a gentle treat for the skin, leaving you soft to the touch with a lingering buttery caramel popcorn fragrance - when you look and feel this good you can give your Body Double the day off!"

This is another solid Lush facial cleanser.  If you've never used one of these, what you do is pinch a pea size (I use about a chickpea size), smash it up in your palm, add a tiny bit of water, then rub your hands together to make a sort of paste.  What I love about Lush solid cleansers is they are a daily exfoliating cleanser.  They are so gentle and skin softening.

So the first thing I noticed about this cleanser?  The scent!  OMG, this smells so good!  I thought I loved the scent of Buche de Noel, it doesn't hold a torch to the scent of this one!  While the site says it smells like buttery carmel popcorn, it does have a very carmel-y scent that reminds me of cupcakes!  I couldn't place the scent till I started smearing it on my face and a lightbulb went off.  It smells like cupcakes!

The second thing I noticed, its very finely milled, so its a very soft exfoliator.  Its much more fine than Angels on Bare Skin or BDN.

And thirdly, its very moisturizing.  Its more moisturizing than BDN, my skin feel so soft!  I could see this being too much for some skin types, but this feels so nice for mine.  I keep touching my face, it feels so lovely!

The one thing that I didn't like is the popcorn in this.  Yes POPCORN!  One thing I dislike about Lush is the unnecessary things in their products.  There is no reason for popcorn in this.  It doesn't do anything for the cleanser except add more crap in the shower.  But other than that, I absolutely LOVE this product, so I can overlook the stupid popcorn.

Looks like I'm going to be hoarding this AND Buche de Noel!

Orly - Buried Alive

Quick post as I'm actually trying to watch a movie, lol!  As I said in this post, I wanted to show you this polish I got on clearance at Sally's.  This is Orly's Buried Alive.  I was actually not interested in this color when I first saw it earlier this year.  And I almost regreted buying it, even on sale.  But in fact, I actually really like it.

I apologize for the one sorta crappy pic.....I've been having issus with topcoat recently.

Did anyone else pic up this color?  How do you feel about it if you did?

Victoria's Secret - Flash

I hope you all don't mind all my recent posts....I'm trying to catch up on all the saved drafts I have!

I'm continuing my LOTR marathon.  I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm a major LOTR buff.  I've read a lot of the History of Middle-earth books, The Silmarillion and The Hobbit, and also the recent books Christopher Tolkien has put out.  I'm always amazed at the depth of Tolkien's Middle-earth....so much history!  I will admit, I didn't know anything about these books prior to the movie.  I was effing PISSED after the first movie!  I had no idea there were 3 more to come!  I remember walking out of the theater and saying "WTF?!?  There was no ending!!" lol....little did I know at the time.

Have I also mentioned that I want to *live* in Middle-earth? Cause I do....seriously!

*crickets*
........Anyways........

Look at this purdy color!  I just bought this color yesterday at Victoria's Secret.  They had about 4 or 5 colors.  Of course once I got this home I realized I already had this color...... Oh well, it's still pretty!

The color is called Flash, which I think is a weird name for it.......ooooh, I get it....they mean like flash a nipple!  LOL! Ahh, now it makes sense!

While at the mall yesterday, I stopped into Bath and Body Works.  The sales associate blew my mind......did you know you can use your Victoria's Secret card there?!?  Yeah.....mind blown!  I seriously said "aww shit" when she told me!  Like I really need more of their 3 wick candles!  Aww shit is right!

Anyone else pick up any of these VS polishes?

Essence Cookies & Cream feat. OPI's Spark de Triomphe

Hello!  I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so I had to call in sick to work.  I think that means that I'm going to have a marathon of shows my guy doesn't want to watch.....or MAYBE a LOTR marathon!  I haven't watched those movies in AGES!  *major LOTR geek here!*

I wore this mani last week.  I haven't worn a glitter gradient in a while and I thought these colors would work together.

The nude is Essence Cookie's & Cream.  The gold shimmer does actually show well.  The glitter is one of my all time favorite's, OPI's Sparke de Triomphe.  I actually found another bottle of it a couple weeks ago, and I bought my first back up bottle.

Honestly....I wasn't a huge fan of it after I realized it reminded me of something.......

Yup...reminded me of this!

After I realized what it reminded me of, I was kinda meh about it.

Tarte Statement Lips 5 piece LipSurgence Collector's Set Review and Swatches

Yay!  Makeup review!!  I never do these, as I don't buy much makeup now (probably because I literally have drawers full.....and don't *need* any).

BUT, I was so excited to see this set, and for the price, I couldn't say no!

This set includes FIVE FULL SIZE Tarte LipSurgence!  FOR $34!  These retail for $24 each!

Escape LipSurgence natural lip luster

Sweet LipSurgence lip luster

Elite LipSurgence lip tint

Exposed LipSurgence natural matte lip tint

Enchanted LipSurgence natural lip tint

From L to R: Escape, Sweet, Enchanted, Elite and Exposed

I LOVE these!  I already own 4 of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stains, but those don't compare to these at all!  With the Revlon's I feel I have to apply, apply, apply harder and apply more!  Seriously!  These Tarte's apply so easily.  They are incredibly smooth to apply, and VERY easy.  Though, with the Tarte's, I feel they don't stain like the Revlon's do.  Curiously enough, the colors Escape and Sweet don't have the word "tint" on their label, so I don't know if these tint at all.

The best part of these balms is they are so comfortable to wear. They actually feel like lip balm.  The Revlon's dry my lips out, and if I wear lip balm under them, the colors are impossible to wear.  I don't feel I need to wear balm under these Tarte's.....major plus!  I am not a bold lip girl, and these are just neutral enough for me to wear!  I'm a very happy girl with these!

Oh, and I also have to note that these had a lovely sweet scent.  They remind me of dinner mints, there's sort of a creamy minty scent to them, lovely!

What are your opinions on these?  Do you own any?

My first half moon!

Good morning!  Its kinda stormy here in Seattle.....and I'm kinda liking it!  We have had such a dry summer and fall, its nice to get a break, and have some good ol' rain!

On to the mani!

Y'all know I suck at nail art.  Well here is another attempt.  I've tried the half moon mani before, but the perfectionist in me always found something wrong, and took it off right away.  I do actually really like this one.  Thought I wish the colors were reversed, lol!  And close up, I notice the imperfections

*sigh* My pictures suck!  The black was TOO shiny!

I found this looked better from afar....and it makes my nails look long!

As the base, I used 3 coats of Revlon Fire Fox.  I've wanted this color for a while.  It came out a few years ago, but has been discontinued.  I actually found it at Ross in a package of 3 or 4 other colors. I snatched it up right quick!  I felt it was almost blasphemy covering it up with Sinful Color's Black on Black.  It was just so retro on its own, love it!

China Glaze - Hello Gorgeous!

Hello Gorgeous! is right!  Can I just take a moment and profess my love for these China Glaze micro glitters with holo glitter thrown in?  I LOVE them.  I have a little collection now, but more on that in a minute.

Hello Gorgeous is from the China Glaze Breast Cancer Awareness collection.  I still need to find United which is the same kinda glitter as this, but a different color pink.

I applied 3 coats here for complete coverage.  I also used a couple coats of topcoat to smooth it all out.

I'm pretty sure there is a couple different pink glitters in here that gives it some dimension.  It could be a light and darker pink glitter with the holo glitter thrown in.  I just don't know, my eyes freak out when they try to differentiate! lol!

This is what I say when I see these China Glaze glitters:

Ugg, I seriously love them!

I Herd That, I'm Not Lion, Hello Gorgeous!, Fireside Glow and Ultamate Holiday

This is my little collection of the China Glaze glitters I'm talking about.

I've worn I Herd That, but have yet to take pics of it. It seems to have the least amount of holo glitter thrown in there, followed by Fireside Glow.  Hello Gorgeous! and I'm Not Lion seem to have the same amount.  They are like different color versions of each other.  Ultamate Holiday seems to have the most holo glitter, in the bottle it almost looks like a linear holo.

I seriously want China Glaze to make more of these....one in every color please!!  The Christmas collection looks pretty promising....looks like there might be a couple glitters similar to these ones!

Anyone else crazy about these glitters like I am??

Essie - Leading Lady

Hi guys!  I have to admit, I'm not really in a blogging mood.  I feel like my pictures suck, and once I load them on my computer, I'm not happy with how they turned out.  *sigh* so lame!

On a plus note....I got my wedding dress!  Ack, I'm so excited!

This is Leading Lady by Essie.  I believe its from the new Winter collection.  I found this at Fred Meyer, and the display only had 4 colors, but I believe this collection has a couple more, one of which is another glitter that I think I need.

Anyways, this red is packed with chunky red glitter (it could be silver, but the jelly base makes it red).  The formula on this was a little weird.  It was one of those sticky glitters.  Not gloopy, or chunky.....just sticky, if you know what I mean!  I applied 3 coats, but could have got away with 2 had I been more careful.

When I brought this home, I immediately knew I had something similar already.  Does anyone else do that?  You pick up a bottle and your like "oh, pretty!  I need!" just to get in the car and say "I already have this color!".  Ugg.....yeah, I do it all the time!

Essie's Leading Lady, Sephora by OPI Merry Me and China Glaze Ruby Pumps

I'm pretty sure if I do swatches of both of these, they will be almost identical.  As I said above, I'm pretty sure the Essie glitter is silver like the SOPI, but the base is thicker, so it turns red.  I know the SOPI once you apply it, gets covered by the base and turns red.  Does that make sense at all?  I feel like it doesn't, lol!

The SOPI is actually one of my favorites, so I'm not upset that I bought a dupe!

If anyone is interested in seeing my dress, continue to scroll down.

Its crazy hard taking a pic of yourself in a tiny full length mirror!

I was actually really nervous this would be huge on me.  I was a size 6 in my waist, size 8 in my chest and a size 10 in the hips (gotta love wedding dress sizes....they make me feel crazy self conscious when I say that!), so they ordered me a size 10.  It actually fit much better than expected.  Its crazy huge in the chest (even though I am quite busty for a petite girl).  And it is quite long.  But overall, I'm quite happy with how it fits!

I kinda want to cut the train down, its a bit too long.

I wish I could have caught the contrast between the champagne dress underneath the ivory lace.

If you follow me on Instagram @glitter_n_unicorns you will see that I now have my dress, shoes and the start of my brooch bouquet.....but I haven't even set a date!  I don't know if I've discussed it before, but we are definitely not having a big wedding.  My family extended family makes it hard though!  That's why I have agreed that if I have family, its going to JUST be immediate family.  Which includes my mom and dad, my brother and sister-in-law, my guys dad, brother and sister-in-law (including their newborn and her daughter).

Finding a place that will do a very small ceremony is impossible!  The one place I found that I really like, says I have to include a reception at like $2000.  Common, that's crazy talk!  I'm not having a reception with 10 people! lol!

So anyways, I've literally gone back and forth from small family wedding, to Vegas, to Hawaii!  Once I mentioned Hawaii, my immediate family was like "oh yeah, family vacation!", it was hard to say that if we went to Hawaii, it would be just me and him.  *sigh*, there is just making no one happy!

The ONLY thing's I want for my wedding are the dress, and that *perfect* picture of us.  The one where its just us being candid, caught in the moment....that is ALL I wish for!

Illamasqua - Load

Hiya!  Yay Monday!  I'm having a totally boring, TV catch up day.  I'm watching all the shows my guy won't watch.....like Bridezilla's.  He gives me a ton of shit for that one, lol!  And I kindly remind him he is lucky we aren't going through that kinda stuff, cause I could see myself going there, lol!

I'm so excited to show this polish.  I've wanted it since I first laid eyes on it.  This is Illamasqua Load.  I can't help but love the name...crude?  Yes, but....that's kinda me, lol.

I absolutely LOVED wearing this.  Its so simple, yet I kept staring at my nails.

I was surprised at how yellow this looked in certain lights.  I knew it was yellow toned, but it was almost a buttery yellow, and not a yellow toned white.

Back to my Bridezilla marathon!!
