Butter London - Trustafarian

How bout one more post tonight?  I've got about 20 drafts right now, so why not?  I should have put them all together in one big spam post, oh well!

This is one of the polishes I had gotten in my recent Butter London haul.  I had to go to two Ulta's to find this one.  And there was only one left.  I snatched it up so quick!  This is Butter London's Trustafarian.  Its a lovely light sage green holo.

Under artificial light, the rainbows came out!

Once I took this color off, I wanted to put it right back on!  And that's saying a lot from someone who shies away from green!

Pretty & Polished - Jawbreaker

Hi guys!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.  Mine has been pretty chill.  I actually took a two hour nap on the couch after work yesterday.  I never take naps, but it felt kinda nice!

Today I'm wearing my last indie polish I've been lemming.  I now have all the indies I want.  I own Sticks N' Stones, Floam, now this one!

This is Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker.  Does it not look EXACTLY like a jawbreaker?  So this glitter mix includes large blue hex, large red squares, small blue hex, small red hex, small gold hex, and the surprising one, micro fuchsia glitter.

The formula on this is great.  The glitter spread evenly, and I didn't have to really fish around for the bigger pieces.  This is a nice two even coats.

You will have noticed I chopped my nails down.  They were just too long.  I just couldn't function with nails that long.  I couldn't type.  I couldn't use my moisturizer without getting it all under my nails.  My nails have never gotten as long as they were.  I've always had very peely nails, that would just split at the side when they got that long.  I was actually waiting for my nails to start splitting and peeling before I cut them down.  But I didn't have any of that.  My nails are strong and healthy.  I was waiting for a break, I even had a very unfortunate accident with a window that I was sure was going to break my nails (if not my hand!), and nope, that didn't cause any damage ether.  And I owe it all to one product.  Nail Envy Maintenance.

I've been using Original Nail Envy for about a year now.  It has really made a difference in my nails.  But the biggest difference was when I switched to the Maintenance Nail Envy.  By the end of the bottle, I didn't see anymore peeling, or splitting at the tips.  My nails were also hard without nail polish on, which has never been the case.  This product has been an absolute miracle for my craptastic nails!  I love it!

Anyone else use this?  What are your thoughts?

Butter London - Two Fingered Salute, aka The Best Polish of the Year!

Hi guys!  Hope you all are doing well.  I've felt a bit gloomy lately.  You know how life is sometimes.  BUT I got 4 new China Glaze polishes that were on clearance at Sally's.  And all 4 are new releases.  So that's kinda awesome.  If your planning to go to Sally's soon, go today, since they are having half off their clearance items.  Its pretty sweet!

Anyways, I got this polish on Friday, and could not WAIT to show you guys.  This is definitely my favorite color of the year, its beat out this color.  This might also have fallen into my favorite of all time.  Its pretty close between this and Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air.

This is Two Fingered Salute. Its a Nordstrom's exclusive.  I don't remember who's blog I saw this on, but I said to myself  "when I get my next paycheck, I am marching over to Nordstrom's and picking this up".  And that is exactly what I did!  I don't usually buy Butter London's except when they are on sale, but I had to have this, and I'm glad I do, cause I have nothing else like it!

The shimmer in this is more than meets the eye.  It looks copper, and that's what I thought it actually was, but no, it's more than that!  Its also gold and pink!  Basically its a duochrome shimmer!  And it is awesome!  I could not get the pink to come out an play with my camera, but you can see it in the bottle shot above.

The base color is an antique-y blue/green.  Its actually very similar to OPI's Mermaids Tears.  I actually just put the bottles next to each other, and the base color looks very similar.

I love, love, love this color!  I hope you liked my ultra large pics, I think this color deserved it.  Anyone else pick this up?

On an unrelated note, I started a new craft project.  I'm not at all a crafty person, though I really wish I was! I was looking through Etsy for a bridal bouquet for whenever our wedding is going to be and whoo whee where they expensive!  I LOVE the look of brooch bouquets, but my god, I am not spending $600 for one! That's how much my dress is!  Anyways, I've decided I'm going to make my own!  What fun it is to make one too!  I should share a pic, cause it actually looks pretty decent right now.  If it turns out decent, I'm thinking of selling on Etsy for fun!

Zoya - Belle

Hello, hello!  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.  I ate waaaayyy too much!  We go out to dinner frequently, but we went out Saturday and Sunday, and ate a lot!  Back to the Monday grind of portion control!

I have been putting this color off for months now!  This is part of the Blogger Collection that was offered by Birchbox.  This was actually the color I bought the collection for.  But when I received my order, I was disappointed when I saw it, cause I thought it was going to clash with my skin, but boy was I wrong!

This is Zoya Belle.  And she is absolutely stunning!  And she went perfectly with my skin tone.

It looks sheer in these pics, but it didn't look so obvious in real life.

Gotta love a polish you have been putting off for months, but being pleasantly surprised with!

Butter London - Disco Biscuit and some exciting news!

Good morning guys!  I will leave the "exciting news" to the end of the post so I can show you my recent BL purchase!  I've wanted this polish since it first came out.  BUT, since I'm cheap when it comes to polish, I rarely buy Butter London's. But with the Ulta BOGO and the Coterie deal I went from 4 BL's to 13!

So this is Disco Biscuit.  This polish is so HOT!  If you follow me on Instagram (glitter_n_unicorns) you would have seen this last night.

I was actually surprised with this polish.  Its pretty sheer, so I applied 3 coats, but what really surprised me was it dries super gritty.  I wouldn't have thought the micro glitter in it would make it that gritty, but it required 2 coats of top coat to smooth it out.

What was also surprising is there is more than just the purple glitter in there.  I also saw pink, and maybe green/gold, but they definitely aren't as predominant as the purple glitter is.

Ugg....so pretty!  My nails are super duper long now, and while I like them long (since I've never had healthy, long nails before), I always find when they are long, I want them short, or vice versa! LOL.

So my exciting news is I finally have the box checked off for the wedding planning.  I have a wedding dress! I actually had a really good experience.  I went into the whole process complaining to my mom that I would hate it.  I'm a pretty picky person, and I had absolutely NO idea what would look good on me.

We actually went to this little boutique close to our house, and got such a rude reaction, that the whole thing made me feel super uncomfortable (being uncomfortable having everything be about me anyway, gave me major anxiety).  The woman was very rude, and made me feel very unwanted, we just walked out.

That's when we went to David's Bridal.  Honestly, I was not expecting much, but it was going to be a good get my feet wet kind of experience.  Brittany was the name of my consultant, and she was super friendly and sweet.  She could tell the whole thing made me feel uncomfortable.  I also made her job nearly impossible with the fact that I had no info about a wedding.  The only info I had for her was that I really liked lace dresses.

She pulled 4 or 5 dresses (I honestly don't remember because I love the one I chose that much) for me.  One stood out to me because I absolutely loved the color.  She put me in my favorite first, and she basically was done....I did not want to put anything else on.  She worked MAGIC with her little clippy things cause my god did I look amazing! lol!  I am not a skinny girl, while I wouldn't consider myself big, I do have some chunk in my belly area, along with lotsa junk in my trunk.  I'm also short with short legs, so I think that makes me look chunkier than I am as well.  Well this dress flatters all my good areas, and keeps my little muffin top in place.  I could not believe how small my waist was!

Brittany wanted me to explore other options so she put me in 3 or 4 other dresses.  I actually did like the wild card she threw in there which was a strapless.  It was actually very flattering (even though I said I wouldn't like a strapless).  But Brittany wanted to see how I felt about the first dress.  And sure enough, yup, it was the dress for me.  When Brittany walked away to get a measuring tape, I had told my mom I was glad I hadn't cried (she cried when she saw me in it for the first time....but I kinda expected it being the only daughter).  But then Brittany started talking about the wedding, and blah, blah, blah, and yup....started crying!  I also started make all the other ladies there start crying, lol.

So anyways, onto the dress.  The funny thing is, after we bought the dress, and went out to lunch, I had complained that I didn't get a picture of it, so I started to look for it online.  I could not believe it when I saw the picture.  My mom had sent me a link to this dress MONTHS ago, and its the only link she sent.  I couldn't believe it.  Here it is.  Believe me when I say this is absolutely stunning in person.  The pictures do not do it justice.  One of the things that sold me on it was the color.  I went with the color I tried on in the store which is was a champagne slip with the ivory lace.  The contrast is absolutely gorgeous.  Its also beaded all over that adds sparkle....not bling which I love.  The back is also gorgeous, and I love the little train.  I absolutely love it....its exactly what I wanted.

I have to laugh, when she came back with the size, it made me feel very va-va-voom.  I'm apparently a size 9 in the chest, size 8 in my waist and a size 10 in my hips....now if I was only taller, lol!  Now all we need to do is figure out what we are doing for a wedding, lol!!

Thanks for sticking around with this long post, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

L'oreal - Brit Invasion

Hi guys!  Did anyone catch the Butter London sale today?  I went to two Ulta's today cause the first one I went to was pretty empty, I did end up getting 4 there.  The second one I went to had ONE Trustafarian hiding, so I snagged that.  I ended up getting 6 Butter London's today, when I planned on only getting two.  Ooops!!  Just like that I doubled my BL collection.  Be on the lookout for them....I can't wait to wear Disco Biscuit.

Anywhoo, I'm surprised I picked this color up.  This is Brit Invasion.  I usually pass L'oreal by....I think its the dated looking bottles.  After seeing so many of these swatches us, I couldn't say no!  You all know how I feel about the gold shimmer!  And WOW there was a lot in there.

The shimmer is so in your face, and I LOVE the dusty taupe base.  The formula on this was......odd.  I don't know how to explain it....chalky?  No.....sticky?  I dunno, it was just weird.  But that's ok, cause the color is worth it!

Anyone else avoid L'oreal because of the bottle?
