Nicole by OPI - Just Busta Mauve

Hi guys!  Can I say how much I LOVE taking vacation from work and not doing anything?  Would I like to actually go somewhere on my vacation, sure, but this is the next best thing when you can't afford to.  I actually went to the fair yesterday with my mom.  I don't remember the last time I went to the fair, so we had a lot of fun.

Anyways, today I'm wearing a pretty fall color that I'm just not loving at the moment.  Probably the fact that I want to hold on to summer as long as I can.  This is NOPI's Just Busta Mauve.  I'm really loving these complex shimmers everyone is coming out with.  Lets see if I can try to explain this color.  Its definitely got a duochrome shift to it.  From the mauve/bronze color to a golden color at certain lights.  Its also got some blue and pink shimmer in it.  I'm seriously loving all these contrasting shimmers.

The color reminds me of OPI's Shim-merry Chic and OPI's Warm and Fozzie, but its definitely not a dupe to ether of them.  The formula was super duper thin, so I applied 3 coats.

(I can't believe how long my nails have gotten in a month.  To think I cut them down a month ago to nubbins!)

While I like this color a lot, I'm just not ready for fall yet!  I'm still not sure why I chose to wear this one today.  Actually, I think I do know why.  Its probably the fact that my untried polish pile has over 50 (?!?) polishes and most of them are fall-ish colors.

So question of the day: How big is your untried pile?

Orly - Decades of Dysfunction ft. Nina Ultra Pro - Holographic Topcoat

Goodmorning!  I did some "nail art" this am.  Cause as you all know, I don't do nail art, besides these glitter gradients, lol.  Sally's was having their 50% off of clearance items this weekend and I got this Orly polish along with a couple China Glaze polishes for a dollar and some change each.  I probably didn't NEED this color, but I got it anyway.

The base color I used was Orly's Decades of Dysfunction.  Its a lovely nude that has a tiny hind of lavender in it.  I love that this manicure is very subtle.

I used Nina Ultra Pro's Holographic Topcoat.  I have to say I love the new bottles for their polishes.  They are more updated looking.  They also have an awesome new brush that reminds me of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure brushes.

The polish looks to have micro holo glitter in a golden base with large iridescent glitter similar to China Glaze Snowglobe.  I quite like it.

And here's a shot of DoD on its own.

Has anyone else picked up these new Nina Ultra Pro's?

Ninja Polish - Sticks 'N Stones

Hi guys!  So I've wanted one of these black and white polishes for a while.  Like I said previously, I'm not a huge indie fan, BUT I've finally have both indie's I've wanted.  Floam and now this one.

And the formula on this is super awesome.  (Look at the little *ping* on my index finger!)

I love, love, love it!

Here is a pic of the base I used by Forever 21.  Its called "salmon" and that's really the perfect description of this color.  Look at all the shimma!  If I was wearing this by itself, I would have applied 3 coats as there was a little VNL.

So my nail polish collection has gotten a little out of hand.  I think I'm going to have to go out and buy myself a Helmer as my two "melmer's" are not enough.  I have polish piled on top of other polish....its seriously out of control.  I think I have nearing 700 bottles!!  I feel kinda like a crazy person when I admit that.  I had posted a pic of my Zoya collection on Instagram and one of my cousins commented asking if it was my whole collection and I had to admit it was just a tip of the iceberg, lol.

So, question of the day: How many polishes do you own? (come on....make me feel better!)

Jade - Hypnose

Hi guys!  I guess I'm just going to round out these Jade holographic posts since I have the last one I have to show you (I'm pretty sure I'm going to be getting the red and black though, I just can't resist, lol).

This one is Hypnose.  It reminds me of the sea in the Caribbean.

Now, while I like the color a lot, I don't like it on me.  It's kinda how I don't like dark greens on me.  I don't like these bright blues.  I guess its cause when I see my nails I'm like "whoa, blue nails".  I dunno!

On an unrelated note.  I'm *almost* done reading A Dance with Dragons.  You might remember me saying that the previous book was super boring.  BUT if you can get through A Feast for Crows, ADWD is worth it!  It's much better!  My one complaint is that at times I can't remember certain events from previous books and GRRM never goes back and explains it.  Know what I mean?  In other books of a series, authors will go back and explain things.  But whatever!

Anyone else reading A Dance with Dragons?

Jade - Delírio Rosa

Hello ladies!  Hope everyone is doing great today!  I think our summer here in Washington has come and gone.  We had maybe two weeks of nice sunny weather.  This summer has just flown by, and I feel like I haven't done anything fun.  My weekends are always full of something.  I hope I can get a camping trip in here somewhere!!

Anyways, I got another Jade polish, and this is the one I really wanted, but it was out of stock on the Ninja Polish site.  So when I saw it available earlier this week, I snatched it up along with Sticks and Stones and another Jade holo.

This is Delírio Rosa.  Its a bright bubblegum pink holo.  Unfortunately, I can't show you how holo it is in person because its cloudy out!  Don't you hate when your excited to wear a holo, and the weather is overcast?  Ugg, oh well!

The weird thing about this polish is it seems to change base colors.  Sometimes it looks very bubblegum pink, other times it looks like a darker, medium pink.  Very weird!

You can see some holo in this indoor shot.

Tried to show some holo with the flash.  See how it looks more bubblegum pink?

And, I present you with another weird video!  My guy sat me down and was like "watch this!".  And I was like "WTF(?!?), are those swords(?!?), and a morningstar?!?" where he responded with "its really sad and geeky that you know what a morning star is." lol.  But actually, once the song gets going, its kinda catchy.....anyone know if they are speaking english?  I can't even tell!  So enjoy!!

Jade - Sedução Rosa

Good morning.  With another wedding down and one more to go, I'm really looking forward to getting married myself and starting a family.  My guy has been a bit baby crazy for a while, but I think having a niece has put him over the edge and he does not want to wait any longer.  Needless to say, he wants to get married next week.

Anyways, this pretty polish is Jade Sedução Rosa.  Its a darker, rosy, pink holo.

This color reminds me of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in Ruby Diamond.  They did look much closer in person.

Anyone sick of holo's?  I know I'm not!

OPI - Every Month is Oktoberfest

Hello!  I've been kinda dragging my feet today.  Well sorta.  I've actually done quite a bit of housework today.  BUT, I've literally just taken my shower.....and its almost 1:00 in the afternoon! Ah, but whatever!

I was so excited to wear this polish the other day.  After seeing swatch after swatch of the new Germany OPI collection, I have to admit, it just didn't wow me.  But the closer I looked to this color and its sister polish Germanicure, I had to snatch them up, and snatch I did!

This is Every Month is Oktoberfest.  I almost didn't get both polishes cause they looked so similar in the bottle, but they really are both different.

The formula was really great, but I expect nothing less from OPI.

I had read that the base of this was purple, so I wasn't as shocked when I got this with one coat.

With one coat it was already quite opaque.

Someone asked me the other day how the wedding planning was going and I just looked at them and said "what wedding planning?!?".  We seriously haven't planned anything, I haven't gone dress shopping...nothing!  I find that funny since for years I always told people the the day my guy proposes, we would rush down to Vegas to get married....yeah, and it still hasn't happened 4 months later.  Oh well.  More and more I like the idea of going to Hawaii and getting married just me and him.  BUT I want to lose 20 lbs before I even think about booking a trip to Hawaii, and well yeah, that hasn't happened yet!!

Dude, if you guys do nothing today like me.....you have to watch this video!  I dare you not to dance along!! You know you want to!!

Oh, and find me on Instagram: glitter_n_unicorns.....I'm trying to use it more, and I want more people to follow!

FA-LOAM!!

Hello!  I was so excited to get this polish last week, you have no idea!  I'm not really into the whole indie polish thing, I feel like a lot of them are just random glitter thrown in a bottle (eek, don't kill me!).  BUT, when I first laid eyes on this polish I NEEDED it!  When I heard Amy from I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous wasn't making this polish anymore, it made me sad, and I thought I would never own it.  But then someone at PAA posted that Ninja Polish is making Floam AND it was stock, I jumped on that!

And guess what?  I LOVE it!

It was a bit thick.  Next time I will use a base polish so I don't have to use 3 coats.

But look at the depth!  Excuse the bubbles.  This is 3 coats of polish, 2 coats of gelous and a coat of topcoat all with the air conditioning on.  You really can't tell there's bubbles!  I think the thing I'm most surprised about is that its just blue and yellow glitter.  I always thought this had green glitter in it!  But I guess since blue and yellow = green....that's why it look like that.  Pretty cool!

How do you feel about indies?

Essence - Gorgeous Bling Bling

Hi yo!!  Hope you all are having a great weekend!

This is one of the new Essence colors called Gorgeous Bling Bling.  Have to say I LOVE the name, it makes me laugh!

This color totally reminds me of this one.  I should compare the two.

I didn't notice till I posted these how blurry the pics are....sorry!

You can't see any of the gorgeous shimmer in these pics.

This has HUGE golden flakes in it, and they DO show up on the nail!

Sorry for the short post, but I gotta feed my belly!!

Essence - Oh My Glitter! feat. Rainbow Honey

Hey guys!  How is everyone?  I'm just trying to recover from my vacation.  Anyone else do that?  I'm tired!  We had so much fun though.  I love spending time with my family, and Lake Tahoe is gorgeous!  Some of the houses there are amazing!  I would love to have a vacation house there.

I had to cut my nails down when we were there, I had a few breaks in the corners of a few of my nails so I said what the heck.  I quite like my nails this length, but then I can't wrap the tips, as you can see in these pics.

Anyways, this is a new Essence Colour and Go polish called Oh My Glitter! and it is gorgeous!  Its got pink, gold and blue shimmer throughout, and its very evident on the nail.  I thought this was similar to A Lovely Secret by Essence, but this is much darker.  You can see ALS if you click here.

And because I was bored, and missed painting my nails, I added a coat of Rainbow Honey's The Worst Possible Thing on top.  I've wanted to wear TWPT as a full mani since the first time I wore it I slapped it on as an accent nail.  I'm still not sure how I feel about this brand.  I have two other colors I haven't shown yet, cause I really didn't like the way they looked.  And they stained my nails something fierce!

But I do happen to love this color.  I really like the mix of this one, even though it is like applying glue to your nails.

You can *kinda* see the purple flakies in this shot.

I leave you with a picture of some of my girl cousins and me.  Yeah....thumbs up is kinda my thing! LOL!

Spa Ritual Sacred Ground

Today will be our last day in Tahoe.  I'm sure we will be sad to go!  Thankfully we have another 2 more family weddings to go this summer, so I should see my out of town family again soon!

I have to apologize as these pics are MONTHS old.  I think this is from January.

This may be one of my all time favorite polishes.  This is Spa Ritual's Sacred Ground.  When I first saw swatches of this, I KNEW I needed it.  It is effing stunning.  Trust me when I say that.

There is so much going on in this polish.  Its a gray base with gold shimmer.  BUT it also has indigo and purple glitter in it as well.  Or maybe its indigo, that turns purple.  I dunno, but whatever it is, I could not keep my eyes off of it!

I know Spa Ritual is now carried as Sephora, but I'm not sure about this color.  If it is, I urge you all to pick up a bottle of it, you won't be sorry!

Wet n Wild - No-Gas, Electrically Charged

Today we are spending some quality time at Kings Beach at North Lake Tahoe.  I hope its fun!

I was so excited when I picked up this WnW magnetic polish.  Its a dark grayish base with a green duochrome that I thought would translate when you used the magnet.  But alas, it did not.  Actually, the magnetic effect didn't come out very much at all.  These pictures actually kinda make it look like it did, but in real life, it wasn't this strong.

The polish is called No-Gas, Electrically Charged.

Are you guys over the whole magnetic trend?

Lex - Mardi Gras Wedding / Tuilleries

I have another scheduled post for you guys.  This one might be appropriate since today is the date of my cousin's wedding.

Honestly, I don't know what the name of this polish is.  I got this a few weeks ago from Sneak Peeq and the name was "Mardi Gras Wedding", but on the label its marked as "Tuilleries".  So who knows?  Anyways, this is my first Lex polish.

Yuck, my cuticles look horrible!

I really love this polish!  Its a very fun, yet work appropriate glitter.  Its not at all in your face.  It reminds me of Deborah Lippman's Glitter in the Air.  As they are both work safe glitters.

Did anybody else get this polish from Sneak Peeq?  What are your thoughts?

Nubar Brilliant

Hi guys!  I'm going to try this whole scheduled post thing.  I should be heading to Lake Tahoe as we speak!

I'm pretty sure this is my first Nubar.  This is Nubar Brilliant.  Its a lovely, scattered soft pink.  I got this at the nail supply store I frequent.  This said supply store is sort of a......disaster.  Seriously, its so cluttered, and there is nail polish EVERYWHERE!!  I personally love it cause every time I go in, there is different stuff.  I've never seen Nubar until this last time I went in, and the display was.....on the ground.  Seriously, like a little three rack display, on the ground.

Anyways, I picked this one up, and it had that look to it that said it was a holo.  Y'all know what I mean right?  That kinda dusky look that holos have in the bottle.  I only have 1 other pink holo, so I picked this one up.

I quite like it.  I know a lot of people aren't crazy about scattered holos but I really like the look of them.

Do you like scattered holos?
