Oh yeah! Glitter time!

Hiya!  Have to thank all you nice people that commented on my cuticles.  I have quite a few mani's I haven't posted because of the way my cuticles looked.  Bleh, no one wants to see dry, cracked cuticles.

Anyways, last night I was totally feeling like wearing some glitter.  I don't remember the last time I wore glitter polish, and I'm glad I picked this one, it's awesome!

This is Nicole by OPI's Fabulous Is My Middle Name.  I topped it over another of my growing pile of untrieds Pure Ice's Twinkle.  Sadly, Twinkle does not look great on me, and y'all know how much I love corals and gold shimmer!  Very sad!

FIMMN is filled with very fine bar glitter in red, gold, blue and fuschia and fine gold glitter to round it out.  Honestly, my pictures do this no justice whatsoever!  It's a total party on my nails right now! For some reason this glitter reminds me of graffiti...don't know why!

Anyone else pick up this hairy glitter?

Ulta's Into Astrono-me?

First things first....eww....look at my cuticles!  Actually don't!!  What makes them look really bad are the paper cuts on my middle and ring finger that are healing.  I papercutted myself right on the cuticle of both fingers, ouch!!  But ugg....my fingers, hands and cuticles are so dry!  And I'm lazy about really heavily moisturizing my cuticles....bad Angie!!

Anyways!  This is a great combo.  This is Ulta's Into Astrono-me? topped with Pure Ice's Heart Breaker (the good version)

The green shimmer really pops against the dusky/smokey teal/navy.

Here is Into Astrono-me? by its self.  It's such a pretty dusky/smokey navy with teal shimmer.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic start to their weekend!  I got good news about my truck.  All the work will be covered under my warrenty.  The $3000 plus work!  Soooooo glad I don't have to pay that!  The bad news is that they have to order a part that won't be in till the end of next week, but whateves!  I don't have to pay for it!!

What a doozy of a vacation!

Good morning!  Wow, did we ever have the shittiest vacation ever!  First my cat gets sick...thankfully I work at a vet clinic and was just able to drop him off there.  We get down to the ocean after a 3 1/2 hour drive, and it's raining....not just Washington rain where it stops for a bit, it's just pissing down rain.  We spent most of our time there in our hotel room.  And of course what happens when we leave to go home?  The sun comes out....figures!  So here we are, heading back home, and it sounds like I ran over something in my truck....it then starts making a really bad noise.  We are about an hour and a half from home....we continue to drive, and about half an hour into that, it now sounds like I am DRAGGING a piece of metal....lovely, lovely sound.  We were able to drive it off the freeway, call a mechanic which is only a little over a mile away, and we are able to get it there in time.  We call my bf's dad to pick us up....an hour from home.  Yeah, he was happy about that.  So now my 5 year old truck needs a whole new rear end....good times, good times!!  Worse things could happen, but it is literally my biggest fear, is breaking down far from home.

BUT, I have the best boyfriend ever, seriously.  He has done everything possible to help me out here, he's been calling and talking to mechanics, towing companies, and the Nissan dealership down there.  Here I am freaking the eff out, and he's dealing with this for me, he really is a great guy.

ANYWAYS....the one good thing about getting home was I had my latest Zoya order waiting for me.  I had gotten the Bibhu Mohapatra NYFW box (which unfortunatly is now sold out).  I couldn't wait to get this color on my nails.  This is Zeenat (seriously Zoya?  And you still don't have an Angie?!?), a lovely steely pewter shimmer.  It's so gorgeous!  This whole box just screams my name, I can't wait to wear the red.

This color reminds me of Zoya Harley, I might have to compare the two.

My note to self : next time....don't plan a beach vacation in the Winter.....it sucks!

Revlon - Calla Lily

Hiya!  Hope everyone is doing well! The last three days for me have been hell!  Our server at work crashed halfway through the day on Tuesday.  When you work at a veterinary clinic who's records are all computerized, it becomes almost impossible to work.  We went two whole days without computer access, which means no access to patient charts, what a effing disaster!   I had such a huge range of emotions over the last 3 days....I went from freaking out on Tuesday, to indifferent on Wednesday, to determained yesterday when our computers were back up.  We basically had three days of work to do yesterday morning. I was cracking the whip on everyone....lol.  Somehow I work really well in high stress situations.

Anyways, I've been debating posting these pics as they don't do any justice to this polish.   This is Revlon's Colorstay Calla Lily.  It's a lovely sheer white with gold and copper shimmer.

I think I added three coats.  The formula on these polishes is very odd.  If I remember correctly, when these the new Colorstay line came out, Revlon was stating that this was a gel manicure you could do at home....but maybe I'm making that up, lol, I don't know!

Longtime readers of my blog probably know I *LOVE* sheer whites, and I *LOVE* gold shimmer.....and this was was an effing stunner!  The shimmer is so crazy strong in this polish.  And my nails really didn't look at yellow as they appear in these pics.

I'm going away for a few days next week, and I think I might actually wear this polish again for that.  Then I can test how long it lasts.

I feel like I'm all over the place with this post today....lol!  That's what happens when you start digging around in your stash for an hour while your writing a blog post....

Anyways, I'm going to see Cavalia with my Ma tonight!  Y'all know I'm a horse person, so it should be enjoyable!  I'm very excited!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  I'm not all into this holiday at all.  It use to be a big deal the first couple of years my guy and I were together.  Now, not so much.  I'm fine sitting home and making dinner together, or something, lol!  My bf is actually more into it than me.  There was one year where I didn't do anything, and he was a little upset about it....so now I make a point of doing something....like buying him candy, or giving him a card, or whatever.

Anyways, this is what I'm wearing today.  Y'all know I suck at stamping, so I tried something basic, and I found these cute little hearts.  I originally wanted them peeking out like my pinky nail, but like I said, I suck at stamping and placement.  This is quite decent for me, so I kept it.

The base color is Wet n Wild's Disturbia.  I quite liked the brush on this one, and the formula was better than the first of these Megalast I've tried.  Then for the hearts, I stamped using Color Club's Hot Like Lava.  I used the Salon Express kit that you can find virtually everywhere now, for the heart stamp.  I liked the way it turned out!

Well I hope everybody has a great day today!

Valentines Day mani.

Good Morning.  You wanna know what I did yesterday?  I played Skyrim ALL DAY, no joke!  I had not planned on doing that, that's just kinda what happened....lol!  I even showered hoping that we would get up and out of the house. : )

Anyways, lemme show you my Valentines Day type mani.  I didn't actually plan this around V-day, it just happened to be pink, and Valentines Day is about pink and red you know!

I just picked this color up the other day.  It's Sinful Colors Creme Pink.  First things first, I have never really liked Sinful Colors.  There is something about their jumbled displays that I always walk right on by.  Maybe it's just me and my weird OCD self, but I like when all the colors are kinda color coordinated, or all like colors near other like colors.  And I don't like the way the bottles look....they do nothing for the colors.  Anyways, I picked this and another one up.  And you know why?  Cause they were all on clearance, and they were all in bins with like colors.....lol!

You will notice that the bottle color is different then what my nails show.  In reality, my nails were the same color as the bottle, and the bottle was a wee bit darker still.  My camera sort of freaked out with this color.  I mean this is neon pink.  BUT!  Look at the gold shimmer!  Ahh, I LOVE gold shimmer!  And it really is evident on the nail.

And because I get bored really easily, I added a coat of OPI's I Lilly Love You, then added a top coat.  I didn't like the way the OPI looked with topcoat (ugg....stupid flakys don't lay flat!  I actually had to take tweezers and pull some of them off!), so I added a coat of Essie's Matte About You.  I now have a coat of base coat, 2 coats of the Sinful polish, a coat of SV, a coat of the OPI, another coat of SV, and now a coat of the matte top coat...whew!

Now it's time to take this off, so I can apply something work safe for tomorrow!

Dutcha 'Ya Just Love OPI....yes.....yes I do!

Morning!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Nothing too exciting on my end.  I feel like going to see a movie today.....anything good playing??

Oh boy do I love this color!  This is Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, but OPI of course.  I was so excited to see this collection at Ulta the other day, after seeing all the swatch posts recently, I thought I was going to pick up a good majority of the collection.  Only two made it home with me.  I will probably end up getting 2 more though.

You will see some bald spots on the pinky, that's the first nail I paint, so it's kinda my tester nail when it comes to a formula.  I usually adjust my polishing based on how the pinky nail turns out.

The gold shimmer you see in the pic above, does actually come out on the nail, my camera just didn't want to pick it up.

On my ring finger I'm wearing another untried (that's a plus when it comes to accent nails....it makes me try more polishes!), Sally Hansen's Big Money.  When I hear the name Big Money, it makes me think of something green....but maybe that's just me!  Anyways, this glitter is awesome!  It's a fine gold micro glitter with larger lavender/pinkish hex glitter.  It made for a great accent nail.

Random video of the day.  I effing love this song!  It now reminds me of Christmas Eve of 2011, since my guy and I listened to this song on repeat for a good couple of hours!  I don't get sick of this song though, it's that great!

Julep Valentines Mystery Box! Ft. Julep Shania

Hi all!  I was so excited to open this box from Julep, you have no idea!  The idea behind this box is that is was a mystery pick, you could get anywhere from $60 - $300 dollars worth of stuff.  I did my math, and this box equals more than $200 worth of product!!  Holy shit!!  I'm sorry to say this deal isn't available anymore.....

In my box is included, clockwise: Julep's Cuticle Oil (yay for backups!), Fast Dry Topcoat, Topcoat for Hair, Julep's Reveal Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum, a small tube of Julep's Age Defying Hand Brightener, and then 7 polishes in Stella, Helena, Anne, Demi, January and Gwyneth, then Julep's lipgloss they now call Pout Popper in Arousal (you all know how I feel about these glosses......I will try it though).  I already own Helena and Anne (two of my favorite Julep colors!) so I haven't decided if I'm going to keep those yet.

I am super excited about the Reveal Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum.  That product alone is about $30!  I might do a before and after post.  The product claims to "Say goodbye to short, weak, peeling nails.  Cutting edge peptides help to stimulate keratin genes and cell proliferation to boost nail development.  Lemon fruit and green tea leaf extracts condition and strengthen nails".  Now, granted, my nails don't look like the ones they show on their page, but I am down to try anything that will help my weak nails.  Without polish, my nails are uber weak.  Now the one thing I am really skeptical on is, it says you should see a noticeable difference in as little as 2-3 weeks.  I find that hard to believe since it takes 6 months for your nails to grow all the way out.....so we will see!

So the first color I chose to wear was Shania.  It's a lovely shade of gray, which almost looks like a light blue in certain lights.  It's a wee bit frosty, which I know a lot of people aren't fond of, but I quite liked it.  It has such a delicate look about it.

The color kinda reminds me of a cross between Zoya's Harley and Dove.

Well I hope you all are having a fabulous week!  I hope to get a dupe post up soon!  So look forward to that!

Wet n Wild all around!

Morning!  My bf is making me get dressed today....doesn't he know it's Sunday?!?  And we are usually so lazy on Sundays?  Sure it's Super Bowl Sunday, but common!  My bf is a huge football fan, so of course we are going to watch the Super Bowl....well he will watch it, I will sit on the couch and read, lol!

Anyways, I want to show you the look I wore last night.  We went out to a comedy club near by, and we had a blast, it was a ton of fun.  My pictures of this look turned out so shitastic though.  Ugg!

I again used my new WnW palette.  I hardly ever do green eye looks, so this was a little out of my comfort zone, but I liked the way the kelly green looked against my skin tone.  I'm really sad I couldn't get good pictures of this, as the sun was already setting when I took these.  No joke when I say this was super bright.

On my nails last night I wore Wet n Wild's Candy-licious.  Miranda from Miranda's Makeup and More had posted these swatches and I had fallen in love with this color.  I was trying not to buy this, but when Walgreen's had a B2G1 I couldn't pass it up....these are only $1.99 so I thought why not.....

This is the perfect bubblegum pink color.  It's just pink, no red or blue undertones to it....just pink.  Looking through my stash, it looks pretty close to OPI's Strawberry Margarita....might need to compare them.

I will have to add the formula on this polish sucks.  The first coat was really weird, it did that weird thing that polish does if you have something greasy on your nails before you apply the polish....know what I mean?  Ugg, and the brush?  I'm all for the pro-wide brushes (WnW calls theirs the ManiCurve Pro Brush) but when the brush is WIDER than your pinky nail?  Makes it very difficult.  I found I had to gently press the brush onto my nails so it wouldn't fan out too much.  I would then end up with too much polish on my nails....I think that combined with the formula issues make this a pain to apply.  The formula issues did even out by the second coat though.  This definitely wasn't the worst polish I've applied, but it's worth mentioning.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful day, and stay safe today!!  Apparently it's the worst day for drunk driving, road rage and spousal abuse!  So yeah....don't drink and drive....or beat your significant other!! : )

Oh sunny day!!

I'm sure all my Washington followers woke up to the glorious sun pouring in through their windows like I did!  You know what that means?!?  Everyone driving around topless.....I mean in their cars sillys!  Seriously, whenever the sun comes out in WA, everybody with a convertible comes out, tops down, down jackets, sunglasses and some kind of hat.  Sure it's only 45 degrees out, but that don't stop them.  Trust me, I know, I use to be one of them.  I use to drive an old Jeep Wrangler...man do I miss that beast!

Anyways, lemme show you my colorful look today.  I feel like I haven't worn anything colorful for a long time.  And if I have, I certainly haven't posted it here.  I was actually quite happy without this turned out, though it totally wasn't what I had in mind when I started.

I used my I Heart Matte's palette from Wet'N'Wild again.  I seriously heart this palette!  I couldn't believe how the purple came out.  Purple is my absolute favorite color, but I find it hard to wear in eyeshadow form since they always seem to turn colors when applied to my skin.  This one did not, and was the same color in the palette as it is on my lid.  And look at that hint of sparkle.  Love it!

The used strictly the WnW palette for this look, but added a bit of Urban Decay's Flipside eyeliner on the lower waterline.

I know it looks like I have crazy long eyebrow hairs, but it's a shadow, I swear, lol.

I'm also wearing one of the new Jordana Easy Shine Glossy Lip Color's I picked up.  And can I say how much I love them?  I think I might even like them better than the Revlon Lip Butters!  Crazy talk I know!  I've only ever been able to find Jordana's at weird cheap party stores...and K-Mart, but I HATE that store with a passion, so I never go in there.  I will have to make a mental note to pick up more of these!

I'm off to go drive around in the sun!  I think I will roll my windows down in my Xterra, crank the heat on, bundle up in my down jacket and pretend I'm driving my Jeep again.  And while I'm doing that, I will be listening to one of my favorite sunny driving singer's, the adorably cute Sia.  She's so stinking cute, just watch the video above!!

Feburary Julep Maven Box ft. Julep's Marisa

Hi my peeps!  I know I says something earlier about sporadic posts, but hey, I have time now before I head back to work to post my Julep Maven box I just received.

I know there are some mixed reviews about Julep, but I happen to love them.  I have yet to have any issue with them, and have contacted them a couple times due to some concerns, and have never gotten anything but stellar customer service from them.  I will continue to recommend their program.

So here is my box.  Julep is celebrating the Oscars with this box.  Included in all the boxes this month they are including their new glitter in Oscar.  I also received the lovely navy shade named Marisa.  They also included another of the cuticle oil, which I love, and in celebration of the Oscar's they included a cute little chocolate replica.

I'm wearing the shade Marisa today.  I realized as I started to apply this color last night, I *just* wore this color not to long ago.  This is pretty much a dupe of a mani I wore last month seen here.  I will have a dupe post up pretty soon.

In the bottle, it looks like there is some purple duochrome to this polish, but sadly, doesn't come out on the nail.  I found the formula on this pretty thick, and will need to add some thinner to it in the future.  I also notice this am, that there is also some bald spots on some of my nails which I find odd considering how thick the formula was.  Just something to note, I had no issues with the formula, but thought it was something to mention.

You can really seen the teal shimmer in this color in the above photo.  I really happen to love this color (as I did the Essence dupe as well), but I am not looking forward to the removal....talk about smurf fingers!!

Revlon - French Roast

Hiya!  Posting these pics, and wearing this color makes me think of Fall.  This might not be the most appropriate time to wear colors like this, but you know what?  I don't care!  I've never been one to follow color advice for the seasons.  I will say, I do wear a lot more bright colors in the Spring and Summer though.

Anyways, this gorgeous chocolate-y color is French Roast by Revlon.  This is the first of the new Revlon Colorstay line that I've tried.  I wasn't very happy with the application though.  I NEVER get bubbles, and this left me with some bubbles on my thumb nails.  Wasn't horrible or anything, but worth mentioning, since like I said, I never get bubbling.

The reason I bought this color you ask?  Look at the bottle!  There's blue, copper and a bit of pink shimmer in there, craziness!!  Unfortunately, the shimmer didn't come out all too well on the nail.

Overall I really like this color.  It reminds me of melted chocolate, and that in turn makes me think of hot chocolate, which THEN makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!  This color also reminds me of Julep's Olivia.....I should compare them.

What do you guys think?  Are you into browns on nails?

Randomness of the day: Ugg.....I miss music like this!!
