Orly Halo - Reverse glitter gradient

Hope you guys don't mine my quick nighttime post.  I'm bout ready to hop into bed, I'm freaking tired!  Why yes, I do get into bed at 9:30....just like any regular old lady like myself! lol!

I wore this mani a couple weeks ago and was just so meh about it.  I don't think the colors meshed well, but I wanted some contrast between base and glitter.  Usually for an accent I try to get very matchy matchy, but I'm kinda worn out of that, and feel it just doesn't pop.  Well this one just kinda fizzled for me.

The base I used was Zoya Harley, which I usually love.  For the gradient I used Orly's Halo, which I also love.  But just cause I love them both, doesn't mean I like them both together.....meh.....

Orly Halo reminds me of one of my all time favorite polishes OPI's Spark De Triomphe which I'm sure I've shown multiple times before.  I've used almost half a bottle of it already.  And funny think is, I already have a back up bottle of it, but I'm still happy to have Halo.  They actually look much more similar to the naked eye then they do in the above pic.  There's a wee bit more bright gold in the Orly than the OPI.  If you have one, you probably don't need the other, unless of course your me!

  1. OMG I love this Color. Your nails r amazing!!! So gorgeous.

  2. Maybe the glitter was more of a contrast in real life, but it looks great in the photos! I like the reverse gradient :)

  3. Well that's sweet of you to say. Sometimes I go way to far with my gradients than I want to, and this is one of those instances. Oh well.

  4. I really like this combination, in my book colors meshed well :).

  5. I really like this gradient trend! I think yours came out great, not meh at all and I absolutely love Orly Halo.
I'm planning to do one glitter gradient for new year's eve look!

  6. Orly Halo is quite awesome isn't it?

  7. I love this look! I really love those soft nails with a glitter gradient. It's just gorgeous! The reverse is really unique and looks awesome with the grey!
