The Most Awesome Gradient Ever!!

Good evening guys!  I'm so excited to show you my nails today!  I had to put in a break cause there were literally too many pictures!

I wanted to do something different.  So I said to myself - "self, I don't think I have ever seen a duochrome gradient before, lets try it!".  So that's what I did.

I used two duochromes that had similar base colors but different flash.  I used Models Own Aqua Violet and the HTF Sally Hansen's Nail Prism in Turquoise Opal on the tips.

What I thought would be an eh mani, turned into a WOW!!  You know when you look at a really awesome duochrome in the bottle, but it doesn't turn out like that on your nails?  Well this looked totally awesome duochrome outside of the bottle!  AND, it didn't even look like a gradient at all.

More pics after the jump!

You can't even tell that I'm even wearing a gradient.

The purple at the tips is the Sally Hansen.  This is what my nails looked like most of the time.

I have to apologize for the quality of these pics, I was just so awestruck to get any decent pics!

Ahhh!!  Look at that!!

Like I said, the two colors had the same base color, so they blended so well together.

You can kinda see where the gradient is in this pic.

This is what some duochromes look like when underwater....except my fingers aren't underwater!

Well that's all the pics I have to show you....I just couldn't help it....this is seriously the most awesome mani I think I have ever done.  I urge any of you to do this if you have these colors.  It is stunning, absolutely stunning!

  1. really beautiful!

  2. What a neat discovery, this turned out great! I never would have thought of pairing similar duochromes to get a more complex multichrome effect!

  3. awesome idea, Ive posed this question to other bloggers and maybe the idea just didnt work so thats why I havent seen it but do you think you could try a gradient with a matte and glossy top coat..

  4. At first I saw the title and the first picture and thought "she cray cray?". But then I realized it really is a gradient! Gorgeous! You should take underwater pics for even more epicness ♥.
