Three for good luck!

Three posts in one day?  Ahh...I'm sorry!  I actually kinda liked my makeup today, so figured I should show you all!

I wasn't happy with how the colors showed up, so I had to edit it a bit.  And for whatever reason, every time I wear UD's Evidence (which is a nice dark navy color) it comes out looking black in my pics?  So annoying!

I kinda forgot it was Halloween today....until I saw people walking around in weird clothing, lol!  Happens to me every year.  I think "what the eff is that person wearing?" then remember it's Halloween, lol!

And I have to show you the awesome boots my mom bought me.  Funny story (well, maybe just funny to me), my mom had bought my sister-in-law some boots for Christmas last year and I was sort of jealous I didn't get any awesome boots for xmas.  Well, since them, my mom has bought me 3, count em, three pairs of boots to make up for it.  These are the latest ones, and I love them!  They have the perfect amount of heel on them, and I love how broken in they look!  The only issue, is they make driving my manual truck very difficult!  There's too much shoe down there, and it makes my clutch foot

So I think I'm all set for winter this year!

Top 10 favorite fragrances

Hello again!  I thought up this post the other day, and thought it might be fun.  This is my top ten favorite fragrances.  I was actually going to do a favorite fragrance post....but since there were actually ten that I picked out, I will call it my top ten!  I won't actually count these down though, since I can't choose, though I do have a favorite of these.

Anyways, let me start off by saying I am a sucker for packaging.  I have actually totally skipped out on products based on their packaging.  I go to Sephora, and there are so many products I walk right by, cause the packaging is boring.  That's why I own so much Urban Decay (I swear, I just said this the other day....).  Anyways, I am also a fragrance whore, and I love having lots of bottles of perfume.  Right now most of mine are sitting in a drawer, but these ten, actually sit out on my counter.

Now FYI, these are in no particular order.  I also suck at describing scents, so instead I will tell you how I wear them.

First up is Versace Bright Crystal.  My bf bought this for me one year for ether my birthday, or Christmas...don't remember which.  The year before, he had bought me J'adore by Christian Dior and I gave him a lot of crap for it, as he had never even smelled it, he bought it based on a sales lady's recommendation.  While J'adore is a lovely scent, it's very mature.  It's for women who wear pants suits and ballgowns.  Nether of which are me! lol!  I do wear it sometimes when I'm in a "mature" mood, lol!  Now as for Bright Crystal, this was a good pick from him.  This is a lovely everyday scent for me.  It's a light, sweet floral scent.  I haven't even made a dent in it, though I use it quite often.

Juicy Couture - This one I would describe as a playful mature scent (my bf hates this one!).  What I mean by that is that it's definitely a mature scent, not something I could see a 16 year old wearing, but it's definitely not old person mature, does that make sense?  I don't wear this one that often cause it's crazy strong.  I LOVE the bottle on this one too!

Ahh, CK One.  This was my first fragrance I ever bought.  I bought this when I was mmm....I'd say 13??  So this bottle is 16 years old!  I don't actually wear this scent anymore, though now sitting here, I'm thinking I should!  This is a unisex scent, and now after smelling it, I think I would like it if my bf wore this! lol!  I wore the shit out of this in middle school! lol!

Betsey Johnson - Yup, I bought this one for the packaging.  I've actually used the cap to hang earrings before.  Like the Juicy Couture one, this is a playful mature scent, and I love it!  It's very strong, and lasts all day.

Vera Wang Princess - Now if I had to put a number on my favorites, this would be number two.  I wear this one the most, and have actually gone through a whole bottle of this already (which is crazy, considering I have a 16 year old bottle that I haven't finished).  First of all, yes, the packaging is too cute, and the reason I picked this up to sniff it in the first place.  The cap which is a crown, is so cute! And once you take the cap off, there's a ring below it which you can wear, which I don't, but it's a cool touch.  Like Bright Crystal this is what I would call a sweet floral.

Philosophy's Amazing Grace - The reason I like this one so much is it's kinda of a palette cleansing scent.  It's very fresh and clean.  A clean floral scent.  This is one I wear to work when I want to smell nice, but not so much like perfume.

Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods - Twilight Woods is my favorite scent from BBW.  This fragrance is no exception, though the only problem with it, is it doesn't last worth a darn.  This is a scent that's subtle enough for me to wear to work.

Lush's Black Pearl - This was a gamble when I bought this scent last year during Lush's forum party.  I had never smelled the Black Pearl scent before, but it has such a fan base, I took the chance.  The one thing about Lush scents, is they are definitely unique.  I think this scent is described as black current and chamomile.  I can't comment on that, nor even come close to describing this scent.  It's definitely a scent you would ether love or totally hate.  I happen to love it!

Lush's Day of the Dead - This was a new scent for Lush last year.  And it was a huge hit.  It smells like lime jellybeans...strait up!  Such a weird scent to wear.  Most people want to smell nice, or sexy or whatever.  This makes you smell like lime jellybeans.....I love it!

Last but definitely not least is Enchantress by Stacked Style.  This is by far my favorite of my collection.  This makes me sad too, because this fragrance has been discontinued for a while now.  I have a smidgen of this left and I am hording it like it's the fountain of youth.  This would be my signature scent if I could still purchase it, instead, it sits on my counter, only to be used on special occasion.  I would describe this as a light, sweet, fruity scent.

I hope this wasn't too boring, or wordy for you ladies.  Any of you guys out there have any of these scents?  What are your favorites, I would love to know!

Never one to leave well enough alone....

Yup, story of my life, lol!  Aww well, it's not that bad, this kinda reminds me of Mardi Gras.

Yesterday I headed to Walmart to pick up some candy for the little ones tonight (BTW, they are having an awesome sale on candy, buy 2 bags, get one free....lets just say we now have too  much candy).  And I saw the new Nicole by OPI Kardashian collection.  Only picked up two of them, this being one of them.  And I didn't think I needed this color after seeing swathes, but it's the first one I picked up.

This is Kendall on the Katwalk (OMG, the names of this collection are so absurdly horrendously stupid).  It's a sheer blue base with loads of blue micro glitter, and larger pink/purple and green glitter.  It was totally opaque in two coats which was awesome.

And because I can't leave well enough alone, and I had just picked up most of the Wet'N'Wild Ice Baby collection, I added 24 Carats to my ring finger.  I was quite shocked to see it was quite dense on one coat.  And then!! because I thought it needed something else, I added SOPI's Only Gold For Me on top of that.  Whew....there's loads of polish on my ring finger.'s coming off tonight anyways.

And, just as a little update, no, I didn't stay up to watch Dexter last night!  My BF was in bed by 8:30, and I didn't want to watch it without him.....he gets mad when I do that, lol!  So instead, I stayed up and read a lot of A Storm of Swords.  Whoa!!  I can't believe the amount of characters they have killed off!  It's effing insane!  I guess it shouldn't be a surprise as they killed off the main character in the first book, but dude, some of this stuff is so out of the blue!  I really want to finish this one so I can get onto the next, but I had told myself when I started this one, that I would have to have an easy read in between this and the next book.  I can get tired of reading an epic series back to back.  This happened with the Outlander series, The Fiery Cross took me 3 months to read!!  Anyone out there reading an epic series right now?

November Julep Maven box.

Good morning!  Yeah, it's almost 7:30....on a Sunday.....and I am already up.  I just don't have the ability to sleep in anymore....I truly am getting old!  lol!

I received my Julep Maven box the other day, so here it is.

As always, you have the option for another shelf pull.  I wish I had done it.  One of the options was three nail polishes, instead of what you see above.  Now I do have to say, I like the color polish they sent.  Selena is described as a "creamy moss green". I think it looks like a greenish, mustard yellow.  I definitely don't have anything like this, and I'm excited to try it on.

Now on to the disappointment.  The makeup bag seems really cheap (though it's valued at $18.00).  The fabric is.....oh how do I describe it, I know I've seen it somewhere else, well it's almost, papery??  I dunno, lol!  It's got a nice Julep charm on the zipper, and the Julep lotus-y flower logo all over the bag.  It is cute, I'll try it, thought I don't think it will hold up with everyday wear and tear in my purse.

Now, the lip's called Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Extravagant which is a "warm, pearlized golden bronze".  That description describes it perfectly.  I never would have picked it out myself.  Once I got it on, I warmed up to it....litterally.  Now, I've tried plumping glosses before.  Lip Venom being one of them, and that one was pretty bad.  This one hurt like a mofo!  Holy shitstix, my lips were on FIRE!  I had to take it off right away cause it was so painful!  Which sucks, cause I actually kinda liked the color, and I liked the formula, it was very silky and smooth, not at all a sticky or goopy lipgloss, it also has a nice smell to it.  Now let's talk about the packaging on the lipgloss, cause it was horrendously ugly!  It's REALLY cheap looking.  It comes in a rectangle tube, which is a really cheap looking plastic.  It looks like lipgloss that would be in a cheap makeup set you found at TJ Maxx or something.  Seriously, it's disgustingly ugly!  It does not look like a $20 lipgloss.  And in all honesty, I would not buy this based on the packaging alone.  What can I say, I'm totally drawn into how products look....that's why I have so much Urban Decay!

So this was a dud box for me, since the only thing I liked in it was the polish.

Anyways, also this week, I got a couple polishes from Julep.  I was surprised to get a couple emails that said I had a couple $15.00 credits at Julep.  I couldn't figure out what it was for, then I realized it was from my referral link for the Julep Maven program.  I don't try to pimp it out, so I never thought anyone would click it, let alone sign up for the Maven box using my code, but apparently 2 of you did, so thank you!  The two colors I bought were Niecy and Anne.  I've wanted Anne (the purple) since I saw it browsing their site.  I'm so glad I could get my hands on her, cause she is awesome!  She's a borderline neon purple.  Can't wait to wear her!

I picked Niecy to wear first.  I guess this polish was named after Niecy Nash, so I happen to love!  So that's awesome!   What's not awesome, is I had lots of issues with this polish.  All the other Julep polishes I have tried have had absolutely flawless formulas, so I expected that of this one.  This was really streaky on first coat.  I think I also got a fuzzy bottle, cause there were fibers on lots of my nails, and it wasn't from me since I am so meticulous at removing any kind of fibers from my nails before I start painting.  So that was annoying.  And what else was super annoying, is I should have put on a third coat.  At two coats, I can still see VNL, which was totally unexpected on a color like this that is so pigmented, and a formula that was also pretty thick.  You probably can't tell, but I have a stress mark on my ring finger from sometime ago where I banged it into something, but I can see it clear as day through the polish...

I couldn't get color acurate pics of this polish though, it's much brighter, and like Anne, almost on the edge of neon.

I do hope I can make it, and stay up to watch Dexter tonight, don't want to miss it again like I did last week, doh!

Light as a Feather...

Good evening my lovely followers.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  I've been at home nursing a sick kitty.  He got to come in to work with me today, and he was not happy about it.  By the time we got some fluids in him, he was done.  He was lunging and spitting in his me!  Let just say I am not his favorite person at the moment which sucks, since I am actually his favorite person.

Anyways.  I wore this color for 2 days.  Have to say I was disappointed in this color, I love swatches I've seen of it, it just must not have worked for me. This is Glitter Gal's Light as a Feather.  Formula wasn't great, and it took 3 coats to achieve what you see here.  Next time I'm layering this over white.  I did end of wearing this for two days, but that's cause I was too lazy to take it off, and it was in perfect condition.

Does anyone else make the mistake of wearing a dark color before wearing a light color like this?  I do all the time!  I always find dark colors stain the sides of my nails where most of my dry skin is, annoying!

This is what I had worn before the above color.  And it really just wanted to stick around on my fingers.  This is China Glaze's Midnight Ride.  I love the little *bling* on my pointer finger.

This polish basically looked black on my nails.  Don't mind the chip on my pointer or the scratches on the finish, this was after a day of wear and tear.

I don't know whats with me and these dark colors lately.  I do happen to like this one.

And just cause he's too cute.  This is Spike.  He curls up like the first pic to sleep by me when I read.  And yes, he likes sleeping on my pink unicorn Pillow Pet, lol!

Hope you all have a wonderful night!

My attempt at a Halloween mani...

So the only reason I label this a Halloween mani is because I used black polish, lol.  I'm just not creative when it comes to "theme" nails, and I suck at stamping, so this is gonna have to do for a Halloween mani.

Well last week AmyGrace from the Polished Perfectionist posted this gorgeous mani, a reverse glitter gradient, I was mind blown!  I might have actually told her that too.  I love it so much, I wanted to try my own.

I did two coats of Zoya's Raven.  I don't know if I've shown this polish before, but I love it.  Sure it looks like your typical black, but it's got a slight silver shimmer though it....just look at the bottle!  I had to clean the lip of my bottle, I think it cause air to get in it, because the polish was ridiculously thick.  Does anyone else have problems with Zoya's dry time?  I swear, it always take a crazy long time.  It took probably about 30 to 40 minutes for the two coats to dry to the touch.....ugg, annoying!

I then sponged on Nina Ultra Pro in Glamrock.  Is the name of this polish brand really Nina Ultra Pro, or is it just Ultra Pro....anyone know?  It's bugging me.  Anyways, I love Glamrock, I've worn it as an accent nail recently, and I need to wear it as a full mani.  Does anyone else think the color should be green though?  Every time I think of Glamrock, I think of

Does anybody else hate these Ultra Pro bottles?  Everytime I see them at Sally's I walk on by.  The bottles and the print on the front seem very dated.

The one thing I didn't anticipate until I literally started sponging my first finger, was the cleanup.  Holy effing shit was this a bitch to clean up!  It took me a at least 45 minutes to do *some* clean up, then I had to scrub away the rest of the glitter in the shower.  I am serious when I say this manicure took me 2 hours to do!  But it was totally worth it cause I love the shit out of it.  I hope to wear it longer than a day if all goes well!

Hope you all  had a wonderful week!  Anyone doing anything fun this weekend, a Halloween party maybe?  I would love to hear what your going as.  As for me, we never do anything fun for Halloween.  I wish I had a party to go to, cause I totally want to go as a Jersey Shore Meatball!!

Ahh....China Glaze Rainstorm

OMG....can I just say this polish is awesome!!  LoodieX3 told me I must wear this.  And I'm glad I did.  I love it!  She also told me to wear some underwear underneath, and I did.  I could tell that this would be a really sheer polish.  The formula is very thin.  I added a couple coats of Essence's Forget Me Not, and 2 coats of CG Rainstorm on top.

And this is what I got.....ahh, I love it!  It's got teal/aqua micro glitter in it, and also a purple flash too it.

You can *kinda* see the purple flash here....

Excuse my dry cuticles!  It's that time of year, what can I say!

I'm on an ongoing search for a new job.  It's tough when I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.  The only thing I know is I don't want to do anything customer service related ever again in my life!  That doesn't leave me with many options.  Why can't I get one of those dream jobs, like people that get paid to travel the world and stuff....ahh, a girl can dream right?!?

Ugg...what am I doing up at 6:30am writing a blog post?!?  I'll tell you why, cause I passed out at 8:30 last night!  Before I even got to watch Dexter!  My guy and I ended up going out to a early dinner where he ordered for me (which was really weird and awkward!!) and ordered me a huge 24oz Mac and Jacks.  Well needless to say I was pretty tipsy on the ride home.  Well he ran with that, and MADE me drink some Long Islands when we got home.  Well that ended with me being passed out at 8:30.  But not before I painted a monstrosity of a mani.  And I'm pretty sure I drunk commented some of you guys last night!  LOL.

Now this isn't the monstrosity.  This is just one of the mani's I wore yesterday.  This is OPI's Excuse Moi! from the new Muppets collection.  It's the only glitter from the collection I wanted.

Gah I loved this! It was so sparkly!

I didn't want to do tons of coats of glitter, so first I did a coat of Color Club's Hot Like Lava.  Love this color, and this is only one coat!  I've worn this one by itself already and got tons of compliments on it, even my mom liked it!

Now on to the monstrosity......

Nail Nerd wanted to see my new Kleancolor in Aurora.  These are the shitastic pictures I managed to get this am.  I always think it's a good idea to add fimo....then realize I just pick at it.  And I don't know why I added flowers to a polish that has stars in it.  Like I said, I was tipsy!  I blame it on that!

While I guess it doesn't look that awful, I should have used a different base color.  I used Color Club's Revealed, and I found it was way too close to the star glitter in the polish, they just kinda disappeared.

This was also incredibly thick, as I had to use 2 coats of the base color, and 2 thick coats of the glitter, which happens to be incredibly thick already.  Yeah, not a huge fan of this at all!  Will have to try it again over a different color.  It's already been removed this morning.

Hey look, I finally finished this post!  It only took me an hour!

Prepare to be jealous....

Good morning everyone!  Hope everyone is having a good day so far.  I haven't figured out what I want to do yet today.  I'm a very "fly by the seat of your pants" type, what does that saying even mean?  Lol, I just had to look it up, apparently this is what it means.  Anyways, most the times flying by the seat of my pants means absolutely nothing....and I just putz around the house all day, lol!

Anyways, on to the nails.  Apparently I have been in a holo polish mood the last few days, cause this is what I've worn.

An oldie but a goodie, this is Sally Hansen's Magical Nail Makeup in Crystal Ball.

It's in-freaking-sane.  My camera just couldn't catch the craziness of this polish.

Even in low light you could see the holo effect.

Only problem with this.  It is a royal bitch to apply.  I had to do three coats just to cover up the bald spots.  It does that weird draggy thing that some holo's do.  You have to try not to go over the same spot when you paint....which is apparently hard for me!  As you can see above.

And after that loveliness, I applied this one, OPI DS in Signature

I've worn this one already recently....but never took pics.  While this one isn't as strong a holo as OPI DS Original, it's still quite strong.

When I did my nail haul yesterday, I went back to my favorite nail supply place (actually, its the only one I know about....) looking for more DS Signature and Original since they had tons of them, but they weren't there anymore *sad face*.  I was hoping to get them for a giveaway that I am planning soon.  Will have to figure out something else!
