Hi guys, hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend.  I have to say I hate Monday holidays, because I never work Mondays, so it never does me any good, and I don't get an extra day off during the week.  Oh well!  Anyways, I wore this look on Friday, I had been inspired by Dani who had posted this look the other day.  She inspired me to wear some green, which you would think would be a brown eyed girls best friend, but for whatever reason, I never seem to wear them.

I curse my pics are never as vibrant as they are in real life!

If I remember correctly (and it's really sad that I can't remember 2 days ago!) I think I used a mix of my UD Naked palette and Wet N Wild's Comfort Zone (I used that awesome duochrome corner shadow!).  I really should wear more greens, as I got a lot of compliments when I wore this, but I'm just so uncreative sometimes!

As a bonus, I present you Deborah Lippman's Across the Universe.  I have been DYING to get my hands on this polish forever.  I accidentally won two of these on ebay, so I have another one coming to me.
Oh I love it so much. (Stupid sideways picture!!)  The picture does it no justice.  It reminds me of the sea with the blue and green glitter.

Anyways, I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend.  We are off to see The Hangover 2 this morning!!

Sleek Paraguaya Palette

Ugg...I've been so busy and lazy at the same time to update my blog, lol!!  Also doesn't help when your super stressed out after you get home from work.  I have a very stressful job, with a very stressful work environment, which leads to a very tired and stressed out Angie, lol!!

Anyways, I won this palette from Amalia at Dear Makeup Diary latest giveaway.  Whats funny, is she had posted a look on MUG using this palette that I LOVED, and I said I had to get this palette.  But things got in the water bills and car know, essentials.  So lo and behold, I WON this palette, how awesome!

Lol...not sure how I managed to cut off my chin!

Ugg...I really need a new camera, these pics just don't show the true colors, it really was very peachy.  I'm all about these peach colors right now.  I did find these shadows very hard to work with, so that's a downfall.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

Zoya vs. WnW

I ran across the new Mermaid's Cove collection of Wet'N'Wild polishes at Fred Meyer the other day, and  I picked up Waves of Enchantment and Diving for Pearls.  I thought Wave of Enchantment looked an awful lot like Zoya Rica.  I have to say, they are awfully close, and actually the WnW one is more of what I thought it would look like, it's more coraly/pink, whereas Zoya is more orange.  And I love, love, LOVE the WnW curved brush!

(I don't know why this pic comes out this way!  So irritating!)

Anyways, you can kinda see in the side by side the differences between the two polishes, but they are nearly identical!  The WnW was lovely to work with too!  And I think I might like it more, just because of the brush!

I had my eye on one more from this collection, so I might have to pick it up.  Not really that I NEED anymore

Everyday look.

Hello!  So this is my basic everyday look.  My everyday look is a look I wear when I'm tired at 5:30 in the morning, and don't want to think about what I'm going to look like at work.  I've basically perfected it so I can apply it when I'm half asleep, lol.  My everyday look consists of a light cream colored shadow, sometimes shimmery, sometime matte.  A medium brown for the upper lid / crease area, and a dark brown to work into the crease.  For this look, I used my UD Naked palette.  This time I tried to work Sidecar into the crease, and ended up with glittery mess!  I HATE UD glitter!  Ugg....oh well!

This will be the only time you will see me with my hair down, lol!  I had just cut it myself, and it was very soft and bouncy here, that I kept it like that.

I'm sure everyone else has a look they go to when they just don't have time (or are too lazy, and don't want to think about it like me, lol!), well this is mine!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Pink Imagination

So I took off OPI's Planks A Lot this am, because I just didn't like it.  I don't know why, everything else from the POTC collections I LOVED (and I have to get a back up bottle of Stranger Tides, it has made its way to one of my all time favorite colors).  Anyways, I slapped on a color I've already worn recently, but I love it so much!  It's Finger Paints Pink Imagination.  I spotted it in Sally's and thought it looked like Zoya's Gigi, which I have been lemming for a while, but I had been waiting to buy till there were other polishes I really wanted too (not that I couldn't pick 100 Zoya polishes I wanted!).

This is two effortless coats

Macro to show the shimmery glass flakes.

This is really a beautiful polish, and it makes me feel so girly!  And I find I don't need Zoya Gigi!

(And why do my pictures show up so small?) Oh well!

I got my first Birchbox last week.  If you don't know what Birchbox is, its a monthly subscription of high quality samples, anything from skincare and shampoo, to makeup samples.  If you like the samples in your box, you can purchase them directly from Birchbox with free shipping.  You also earn Birchbox points for every dollar spent.  When you sign up, you fill your "beauty profile" and I *think* that might be how they pack pick your box.  Each box seems a little different.  Anyways, on to my box.

It comes in this lovely box.

Here are my samples.  Full size Stila eyeshadow in Wisteria, Bulgari Mon Jasmin Noir fragrance sample, Archipelago Pomegranate soap and Ahava Mineral Hand Cream.  It also comes with a cute blank card.  I was so excited when I saw the full size Stila eyeshadow, it's a gorgeous purple/burgandy color, but I used it a couple days ago, and the color payoff sucks!  I also LOVE the hand cream, and I think I might purchase a full size of that.  Love the perfume sample as well, but my bf doesn't like it.  He says it smells like pantyliners, and he can't explain why, lol!!  I think it smells very mature (that's the best way I can put it), but not like an old lady.  The soap is just a hotel sample, it a weird smells nice at first, then has a weird plastic-y smell.  Overall, I'm very happy with this box, it's only $10 a month and that includes shipping.

I would show you my nails today, I'm wearing OPI's Planks A Lot from the new POTC collection, but REALLY don't like it!  And I love purples!!  I am absolutly in love with everything else from the collection (besides the shatter which I did not get....don't like shatters), but Planks A Lot is just blah.  Anyways, thanks for stopping by!!

First Post!

Welcome! So I haven't decided how or what I'm going to do with this blog. I think it's mostly going to be looks, review and nail polish.....sounds like basically all the blogs I already follow, lol.

Anyways, a little about me. My name is Angie, and I'm almost 29 (eek!!). Born and raised in Washington State, and I LOVE it here, can't imagine anywhere else I would want to live (besides maybe a tropical island of course!).

I'm really a huge dork, I love fantasy movies and books, beer, Xena, video games and unicorns (hence the name of the blog, lol). I have a passion for animals, and currently work in a vet clinic (and have for the last 8 years!!). I have 4 cats and an old black Lab named Harvey who I just adore! I have a wonderful boyfriend of almost 10 years (!!!) who is the funniest person I know. We really have a blast together.

I hope to keep up with this blog at least a couple times a week....we will see!!
